Yeah I had mentioned this in the other thread but there's a very high chance they were just saying UE4 till UE5 actually released.Would this mean other studios are already building games with Unreal Engine 5?
that just means it's a long-ass way away and they barely got started
I'd imagine they're using UE4 and will just transition over to UE5. Pretty sure someone at epic said the transition should be really smoothWould this mean other studios are already building games with Unreal Engine 5?
Wonder what to expect. Wasteland 3 is already looking like a big upgrade over 2
Nice. Would be great if they could fill that void Bioware left behindSince they hired Senior Combat Designer that worked on God of War, I'm assuming 3rd-Person Action RPG

In the past big studios have gotten a hold of UE ahead of public release.Would this mean other studios are already building games with Unreal Engine 5?
They're probably starting with UE4 now & will transition to UE5 early next year thanks to the engine's forward compatibility.Would this mean other studios are already building games with Unreal Engine 5?
Didn't Sweeney say something like it would be easy to port UE4 to UE5? I'm sure the barebones of the games has already started. I would think 2023 at the earliest?
it's probably exactly the same as moving to a newer version of UE4I assume devs will be able to port their code/assets over from UE4 to UE5 with relative ease. I don't think this suggests any extra wait time.

I mean, their previous games were developed on Unity, including the not released yet Wasteland 3. This is a massive jump for the studio.Game company will be using latest engine on their next project that they have not started working on yet.
Neat.
Playground is using UE4Don't you think MS will try to push the new Halo engine to some first party studios? Also playground I don't know if they'll try to adapt Forza Engine to an RPG... they create a fantastic open world in Horizon.

I wasn't sure, thanks!Playground are already confirmed to be using Unreal Engine for their RPG (Fable)
which you would never do in the middle of production, thats already a major hassle and can be pretty damn time consuming (which means its expensive). Expect Playground to stick with UE4 till the release of the RPG and then move after tbhit's probably exactly the same as moving to a newer version of UE4
I suppose this means pretty much any dev aiming to release a game on unreal from 2022 onwards will be on Unreal 5.

not if the game has been in development using UE4 any game starting development in 2022 tho then yea I dont see a reason to stick with 4 then unless there are issues with 5 that become apperant later on but i more than highly doubt thatI suppose this means pretty much any dev aiming to release a game on unreal from 2022 onwards will be on Unreal 5.
if anything they would want the devs to use UE as they all have been open about how they are able to share techniques and help each other which only speeds up the process and brings everyone up. plus a ton of xbox studios already have experience with UEDon't you think MS will try to push the new Halo engine to some first party studios?
