Had this convo with my mom about having kids. She keeps on hounding me about it in the worse way and I'm just like "Fuck kids bro that shit is weak" like I have no desire to take care of someone for 18 years bro like my patience is thin as is and I snap easy when people annoy tf outta me.

She keeps on saying that once I have one I'll change my mind but honestly I don't believe that at all, don't wanna bring anybody else on this planet bro we're suffering enough as is.

Don't know why I made this thread just frustrated I guess :l

Parenting is not for everyone. Don’t have kids if you’re not going to dedicate yourself to them.

My wife and I aren't having kids. If you change your mind down the road you change your mind, but people guilting you into having kids is shitty.

I think holding off on having kids is the right choice. You shouldn't have kids just because your mother is hounding you, especially when you don't feel you're emotionally ready. It's bound to yield unnecessary pain and trauma for all parties involved.

Personally, I *do* want my own kids someday, but I'm enjoying the DINK life too much at the moment.

Nah, I'm 30 and honestly have zero desire to have kids, and believe there is nothing wrong with that sentiment.

Now you may feel as having a kid would be the worst thing ever, but later in life, you may feel different.

About the mom thing, yeah, just ignore her. Dont have kids unless you love the idea of being a parent and everything that comes with it.
We have enough of those "just have one and you'll see you like it" running around.

It's fine. I like the idea if kids but recently realized how annoyed I get with my roommate's pets wanting my attention. It's made me rethink if I could actually deal with a toddler.

I'm 23 on my way out bruh.

I don't know if I'll ever warm up to kids like their cool around like 11-12 but under that especially around like 5-6 on god I be ready to go off.

Take it from me, the fourth youngest in a family full of five kids; unless you have a high paying job and not fearing destitute knocking at your door, don’t even bother about the idea of conceiving.

Get a dog or a cat.

Seriously, let's talk about this again in 10 years.
And dont see this as me putting pressure on you, like: "in 10 years, you will want kids and if you still dont want none by then, you're a weirdo".
Its not like that... never wanting to have kids is fine, but a lot of things change in 10 years.

As for the age thing, I'm opposite to you.
From my experience (im not a dad, but i spent a lot of time with my cousins since they were toddlers), from 1-6 it's the best.
Babies are just adorable, everything they do is automatically hilarious just because of how uncoordinated they are.
But as soon as they get to pre-teen/teen years, a disconect happens and yeah, they just become brats.

My parents were like this in the past but have mostly given up thankfully. I have no desire to have kids, sounds like a total drag.

tell your mom your literally still a kid fresh out of high school and that it makes no sense to be trying to convince someone that hasnt really experienced anything to have a kid already.

I think older generations are kind of bitter they didn't really have a "choice" whether to have kids or not. Nowdays my friend group is pretty evenly split between people who do/don't want kids. It's absolutely a decision you should carefully consider, not just do it because your mum said so.

By the way, I'm expecting my first kid... Last week. Wife is overdue!
