Like others have said the two being together as components isn't crazy. A perennial holiday breakfast dish in my family is what we affectionately call "trailer trash potatoes," diced potatoes in a cheesy cream sauce with cornflakes as a crunchy topping. It's so good.
But just, cold cheese in a bowl with dry cornflakes? That sounds awful. If they were at least melting the cheese to make it some sort of bonkers nacho adaptation I could even kinda get it. cold sliced cheese jumbled up with flakes? Nah
