Just got an Xbox and looking at getting Gamepass Ultimate. I remember it was $1 to convert your remaining months of Gold back in July.

Right now it's $2 for 2 months, then $15 a month after. Is the converting Gold to Gamepass Ultimate 'lifehack' still working?

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate:
Use your active Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership to play games on Xbox One and Windows 10 PC. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate includes Xbox Game Pass for Console, Xbox Game Pass for PC, Xbox Live Gold and additional benefits. Note: Purchase of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate automatically upgrades your existing Xbox Live Gold or Xbox Game Pass membership(s) to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate at a conversion ratio each based on days remaining. Learn how this works at www.xbox.com/gamepass. Future code redemptions are also subject to a conversion ratio. Conversion ratio subject to change. All conversions to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate are final: Once converted, you cannot re-convert your Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership back to a previous membership. Maximum 36 months of redeemed Xbox Game Pass Ultimate per account at a time, including any converted time from Xbox Live Gold and/or Xbox Game Pass (for PC or console).
Game titles and number vary over time and by country. Membership continues to be charged at the then-current price (subject to change; plus applicable taxes) unless cancelled. Cancel any time to stop your next scheduled charge; see account.microsoft.com/services. Notice before purchase of add-ons, DLC, consumables, virtual currency, or subscriptions (sold separately): If your membership terminates or a game is removed from the catalog, you must reactivate your membership or buy the game separately to continue using these items. ISP fees may apply. Age restrictions apply. Xbox Game Pass discounts are based on Microsoft Store price and are not combinable with other offers and are not redeemable for cash. Discount offers exclude titles within 30 days of launch and are not available with select titles. Service, features, and requirements may change or be retired. Subject to the Microsoft Services Agreement (microsoft.com/msa). For PC: App download, Windows update(s), and storage required (xbox.com/pcgamesplan). System requirements vary by game; performance scales with higher end systems.

When you join Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, we will apply any prepaid time you have on Xbox Live Gold and/or Xbox Game Pass toward Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, up to a maximum of 36 months.
For example, if you have 3 months of Xbox Live Gold and 3 months of Xbox Game Pass already on your account when you purchase your first month of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, you will have a total of 7 months of Ultimate on your account before you need to renew your membership.

Seems like it to me, so if you have a year of gold that should be a year of Game Pass Ult plus those two months.
Edit: Added the bit about how the conversion works one to one.

It's active. I regret buying two years of Gold because I'm PC only and game pass is shit on PC. I'd probably love it on console though.

Hi all.

I'm think I'm about to do this (Buy three years of gold and upgrade).

Does it matter how you get gold? Or is just having the time on your account all that matters? Meaning, I have a lot of points through the Bing Rewards system and can buy around 2 years worth of cards just off that. Can I add a year from another source?

Also, will my regular Game Pass (10 bucks a month) just expire? Has there been any issues with that?

Lastly...any deals on live right now?

I mean, I thought Game Pass for PC was still technically in beta, right? Could be wrong, but I thought it wasn't official yet.
The biggest issue with it is the same that they have had on Microsoft store forever. They lock down all access to the game files which prevents you from launching the game exe directly and prevents all modding which is really bad for some games (Kingdom Come Deliverance is painful without the unlimited saves mod).

This mega restrictive DRM makes the Xbox launcher by far the worst ever seen on PC. It's the nightmare version of Denuvo.

No matter the cost it's a good deal, one of the very few services you could literally recommend to anyone at any normal cost and it'd be worth it. Think Netflix before price increases, impossible not to have.

Experience varies on different PCs i guess or your PC is very powerful and has enough headroom for you to notice performance problems. Main issues for me was v-sync and frame pacing problems. ABZU was using double v-sync and reduced 60 fps to 30 fps when GPU usage peaked. VAMPYR stuttered constantly, performance didn't change for me no matter what i lower in the settings and it wasn't even fully utilising my GPU and CPU.
Hellblade (UWP version) performance is abysmal. Similar problems are mentioned in this thread.

Are you still not allowed to access the benchmark in Metro Exodus? I know that it's a separate exe sitting beside the main executable.
