Soul Sacrifice, also known as the best Vita game everyone forgets about.

A Monster Hunter clone? Maybe, but the combat itself was incredibly addicting, an oddly good story, a killer soundtrack, the overall world design and aesthic was incredible.

Just give this a listen:

I'll even take a remake of the game and Delta, but Soul Sacrifice deserves a second chance :(

Soul Sacrifice was really fun and I loved the pseudo-sequel. The setting was really unique and I loved the twist on folklore.

It's a shame they never released a sequel on the PS4 but it only came out because everyone was jumping on the Monster Hunter bandwagon after it went exclusive on Nintendo consoles so there's probably no chance we'll ever see this franchise again.

Vita is weird, man. Gets weirder everyday. Sony funds exclusives, the platform bombs, and they just leave them to rot? Geez Sony, you sure Freedom Wars wouldn't be a quick turn around project? You could even throw it on PS Now as a value ad?

In other words, yes. Bring on a new Soul Sacrifice or at least a dang port.

I'm not dying for it but I did enjoy the game and would like to see it come back.
Freedom Wars as well.

Am I crazy for having it in my Top 15 of all time? Sometimes you have to let go technicalities and use the factor 'fun' or 'charm' to judge a game, and damn SS had both of those. Criminally overlooked.

Best Monster Hunter type game and best Vita game. Too bad it never got a PS4 sequel. So so good.

Nah it's definitely up there for me as well. The combat system and encounters were lots of fun. Then again I also hold Kid Icarus Uprising as a favorite as well.

I'm with you. I've been saying this in my head for a long while and it's a shame it's locked to the Vita. Even a remastered version for PSN would have been nice, but I would go nuts for a sequel.

Wouldn't mind a sequel. It had a lot of good mechanics and interesting ideas but there were just too many repetitive filler missions for my taste. You would not even see half the bosses in the game without grinding the same monsters in the same arenas over and over and over. Good story, well written lore and fun combat but there really wasn't anything to the game apart from menus and combat. I need some exploration and mission variety.

This is actually their 'culture' which I don't like, albeit understandably...

Excluding Delta, they only got one Soul Sacrifice & one Freedom Wars, no sequel by the time I posted this.

Was it the sales so average that it deter the sequels?

Gravity Rush got & only 2, so that's that... : /

I love this game so no, your not alone OP.

I've always described it as Monster Hunter X Phantom Dust to people and that normally gets attention until I reveal it's stuck on Vita.

Okay, that's a weirder fucking point. Why Gravity Rush? I'm not talking trash, I enjoy the series. But why just that one?
I dunno...

Maybe the first & remaster game was received well and planned the sequel, albeit on PS4.

Also Toyama plans it to end it with the 2nd game, if I'm not mistaken...

Although, I'm very very much sure if the game succeeded more, it ought to have 3.

But alas...

I loved the atmosphere and some of the character design, but never could get into the gameplay too much. Just didn't gel with the small areas and MH mission structure.

I'd be down for a reboot with a more traditional RPGesque world.

Yes. Would have benefited from a larger budget, less of a mission structure which does feel repetitive but more of an open level/Hub design to explore with a lot more monsters diversity between each. The Lore is excellent, combat is really fun and unique that could have been explored further with more depth, some really fun bosses and really cool designs.

We're in a time where we have huge success from monster games like Souls, Ni-oh, Monster Hunter etc that I don't see why such a game like this if given the same treatment wouldn't also share same success.

I remember being really dissapointed with the first one. I lost my marbles, when I had defeated a boss, and was prompted to choose to spare them, or sacrifice them. Choosing sacrifice, the game basically told me "but thats not how it happened" and reloaded the bossfight. I really didnt like much of anything about it from the presentation to the gameplay. Was the sequels any better?

Soul Sacrifice Delta is one of my favorite games ever and I'd love to see a sequel.

It's sad to see Sony Japan's output on PS4, especially when compared with their Vita output. I'd like to see more of these "collabs" between Sony Japan and other japanese devs on PS5.

Dunno about dying for one, but I'd definitely play the crap out of a new Soul Sacrifice game. I played both the original and later the much better Delta version.

I'd actually settle for a souped up version of Delta on PS4. The game thoroughly rocks and deserves to be played by more people. It is unique enough to be seen as much more than a mere MH clone.

They really gotta give us a sequel. Definetly my favourite MH clone.

Same with Freedom Wars cause that one actually has tons of potential.
I am fine with them making a couple of sequels for both as an "ending". Just realize their potential please.

While you are at it, please give us a sequel to Gravity Rush 2 that ties the remaining loose ends. I am fine with it being the last one.
