It should be no more than $20. But the industry has made it clear that they have no problem porting older games and slapping a high price tag on it. In that regards I'm expecting $40, which will prompt me to wait for a sale.

  2. Has anyone looked at the Win10 achievement list and compared it to the Xbox one to see if there are any differences? If they're different, it's definitely considered a completely separate title with its own achievements.

I wonder how much effort will be put into it.

I'm hoping for (at the very least) ultrawide support. I think this game would be marvelous at 3440x1440 (or higher, depending on performance).

They both like to talk about how bad Windows Store at any opportunity with little interest in the actual games. I find it particularly odd how they can both not only support other consoles but enjoy those games with little concern about how even more restricted they are. The only answer is they expect Windows Store to be just like Steam. Well I expect Nintendo's online to be just like Sony and Microsoft too but it ain't, so does that mean we should boycott the Switch?

It seems every thread they can talk about not using Windows Store they will. I too would like SO come to Steam but if it's only on Xbox One then that was the only choice, just like if it's only on Windows Store for the PC. That's the way it is.

Gears Ultimate has separate achievements. Quantum Break was their first game to launch simultaneously on Xbox and pc and before Play Anywhere became official.

They don’t own Sunset so if it isn’t Play Anywhere I fully expect separate achievements.

It certainly wouldn't be the most outlandish thing to expect an "out now" announcement. Though I personally think they'll announce it and release it sometime next week.

A 4K Enhanced patch being "out now" would make a lot of sense though.

If I'm reading the achievements list correctly, the PC version doesn't have the coop mode. That would explain why it's not a Play Anywhere title.

The point was that if people want to play the game they will have to play it on that device. If a game is Windows Store exclusive on the PC then it's the same damn situation we see all the time on consoles.

We get it, windows store could be better. Alot better, but it's the same thing with any title. Those two permant residents are just about in any Microsoft topic and both bought PS4 systems because that was the only place they could play some of those games Yet they both talk no-stop (especially one of them) every single day why he refuses to support Windows Store. I've never witnessed someone that persistent to let it be known why Windows Store is so bad and why nobody should use it.

If I did that on a daily basis in every Switch topic people would call me out for trolling, wouldn't they? I wanted to play SO but didn't really want to buy an Xbox One, now I don't have to. So unlike those two who had to buy additional hardware to play those titles with even more restrictions. SO always looked like a lot of fun so I cannot wait. If it comes to Steam as well great.

Then are you sure you quoted the right post? Because I was saying they don't block access to modifying the files and they don't.

Yeah, by default the access level is super restricted, but that is so by default only the trusted installer can modify those files and ultimately give the user a say if he wants to have other applications being able to access it as opposed to have access to the entire system files because that's what they require to even install itself.

Could they make the process simpler? Hell yeah, the whole permission/file properties thing could definitely use a big overhaul, but I don't think the default restriction is bad in itself.

The default restriction is good for sensible apps like PayPal, but makes no sense for PC games. It's useless and makes modding unnecessary difficult. If Microsoft wants to deserve the trust and respect of PC gaming enthousiasts, they should get rid of it asap.

This is true but again if it's only on Windows Store then that is where you will have to get the game if you want to play it on the PC.

You keep making the same comments every day but you still don't have any respect for anyone who supports Windows Store if that is the only choice. If Sony blocks console crossplay or censors titles that is also a valid reason in your mind to boycott the system? If Switch won't allow proper voice chat is that also a valid reason to boycott that system?

Microsoft will continue to pay the price of they restrict multiplatform games or offer a worse experience compared to other stores. It's the same scenario in the console level. You justified it by buying your PS4 to play those games you can't play anywhere else yet you want your voice heard every day why nobody should support Windows Store?

What you need to do is respect people's decisions to buy Windows Store exclusive games just like we respect your decision to play PS4 exclusive games. So stop trying to convince everyone why they shouldn't use Windows Store.

  38. Not surprised that the game is not Play Anywhere most likely.
It isn't a UWP title on Xbox One because it was released a long time ago when UWP didn't even exist. And considering it will have a Steam release, it all points to it being a Win32 game. I also don't remember if Microsoft ever added Play Anywhere support for such late ports. I think that all Play Anywhere games were released on both Xbox One and PC at the same time, but still UWP is the key here. Without it Play Anywhere is not possible.

P.S. On the side note, MS Store version should almost 100% have cross-save feature as Xbox Live supports it without Play Anywhere. For example, FFXV Windows Edition from MS Store supports cross save with Xbox One version. Quantum Break as well.

I doubt it is possible to get rid of it as too much changes would needed to be made to how UWP apps works in order to get rid of it. So, the best solution is to release a tool which will decrypt any UWP app gaining access to its content and then allow it to be repackaged. In order not to break security just disallow access to Xbox Live for such modded apps.

I mean, it's a former AAA game that will probably include the season pass too (that alone it still cost 20$) so yeah, I think that probably 20$ is too low.
If the game will include the season pass then 40$ is fine, otherwise 30$ it's ok, I'll wait discounts anyway probably.

That protection is not useful for an app per se, it's useful for the user.

On win32 if you want to install a simple calculator app you have to give it as much permission as you'd give to install an antivirus, or an system driver... Which is the loophole malware uses to harm your system. On uwp since installation is a well defined process this is no longer necessary.

And it may be a more complicated process, but it's something that only needs to be done once (and that can be easily automated via scripts/win32 installers with system level access.)

Finding the app folder will definitely be cumbersome though, their naming convention is not user friendly at all.

Sunset probably only got ported to PC to begin with because we kept asking for it and still showed interest years later while folks went 'won't happen, stop asking, buy an Xbox'. So now seeing (most likely the same) people being bothered by us making a fuss about wanting to buy it on a non-shitty store is absurd. Asking for stuff does work, we see it all the time. There's no need for this defeatist, or dare I say kowtowing attitude towards corporations. They want my money so I'll tell them what they have to do to get it. Doesn't mean I'm not pragmatic, certain things can't be helped but this isn't one of those.

It's more likely that Co-op is in, they just removed the achievements for it to fit the DLC ones in.
For comparison, the Windows 10 version has 80 achievements, while the Xbox One version with DLC has 88. Which means they rounded them down to a flat "?0" number.
This also confirms all of the DLC is included with it, though that was to be expected, considering how late this port is.

Vocal doesn't even describe your buddy. It's like he has an eliminated script he brings out every day any chance he gets See you bought those games because you couldn't find it anywhere else just like you do on your game console. See common sense so far. He will only do that as well on his PS4 but spends 90% of his time here talking about a Store he refuses to use and wants everyone else to not use? Thats not normal behaviour no matter what angle you try.

We would all like the store to be better, that's not the point. The point is why does someone spend most of their time talking about something they refuse to use and wants everyone to know why every single f'in day? That's goes well beyond just being vocal. It's this a game forum or a place to just talk non-stop about the same issue over and over? Now watch as you try and turn things back on me. I'm here because I enjoy videogames like 99%of the people here regardless of where they or I spend money on. I don't need a lecture or be educated every day why he doesn't want to use Windows Store.
