Like what point are you even trying to make? Like, hey it's actually a good thing that the DOA team acted like children and gave an incredibly unprofessional show at EVO Japan? Fuck Mr Wiz for acknowledging and addressing the issue and how inappropriate it was?

I'm assuming it's about having to take the doa stream down during Evo. But what is the core values thing? People saying that Evo has core values?

It's a meme poking fun at how hypocritical EVO is with stuff. Some people it means stuff like MK, others it means how EVO runs as a tourney. I think even most of the stream monsters know that the DOA stuff was ridiculous lol

I'm in agreement with you. I'm not really a part of the FGC though I love fighting games and I follow tourneys, but I also thought it was dumb that people are calling him out for saying "core values" like what was he supposed to say? It was a professional statement to apologize for something that shouldn't have been on stream.

People need to remember that r/kappa was also a porn board for the longest of time, so yeah people are gonna be mad if they censor their boobs, especially if in the same sentence they say that MK gore is okay.

There's not real outrage, it's just people getting tired of an already pretty worn meme.

At this point, people using it and then doubling back to MK as being a sense of false equivalency are basically asking EVO to drop MK11 too. Like, why in the world would you expect an American fighting game tournament scene to be aggressive against excessive violence and gore, whilst being lenient against excessive nudity and objectification? They have enough trouble as it is with Street Fighter 5 being on TV once a year and having to use the more dressed up costumes.

And real talk, when the one model started slapping the other model's ass, no one expected that to fly. Them cutting the feed is more than understandable, and the only ones actually complaining without joking are the same people who cry about the FGC being too corporate and wanting to get back to it's "hood roots", where you could curse and spit and drink and grab women on stream and no one said anything. The days of "who's bitch is this?" and "I'm a punk ass bitch" and all those old stream moments when people used hype as an excuse to be terrible to each other.

I had to google "FGC" and I came up with Florida Gateway College, Friends General Conference, and Female Genital Cutting among others. Ridiculous. The guy that just won the Esports player of the year award is most well known for his Mortal Kombat career. I'm not a fan of NRS, but ya MK is part of the FGC.
