lmao what shit ain't ever happeningSony might just put their games on it for free instead of discounts
"We here at Sony are excited to announce our new online multiplayer only PS+ Silver membership for $60 a year and the current service with all the additional features you have come to love will be re-branded as PS+ Gold for $99 a year."
PS Plus sucks as is right now (very slow download speeds, lame "free" games) and is overpriced, why would I want to pay more? PS Now has poor visual quality and lag unless it is one of the few games you can download, no thanks.
Wow, sounds like Europe has good PSN speeds? In the US in the South, I get pitiful speeds. Download speeds always get a bit confusing in the units for me, but I get 30 MB/s or 240 mbits/s? downloading from Steam and can download any giant sized game in less than half an hour and often 5-10 minutes. However, with PSN, a similar sized download can take 1-5 hours (highly variable in speed but never never seems to hit over 100 mbits/s other than for a few seconds and then drops).I don't know where do you live, but here in Spain, I can dowload games to full speed (300mbits/s)
Sony is for themselves. They aren't making those exclusives out of the goodness of their corporate heart, they do it because it's the best way to differentiate themselves from Microsoft and Nintendo. If they can make more money than Microsoft without SPENDING more money than them, they will follow that path and go down the same road MS is.
All I want is Playstation Plus Lite - much cheaper, ONLY online play and cloud saves backup - I dont need these free games or additional discounts.
What a weird post. You know paying to play online didn't start with the 360 right? Xbox live itself started on the original XBox. But Microsoft wasn't even the first to charge to play online. That would be Sega who charged a monthly fee for Sega Net to play dreamcast (and maybe Saturn games?) online. So if you're going to blame people for this, I guess blame the people who bought Dreamcasts?
btw when we have to start paying $99/year with no added benefit, I'm blaming you OP.
The Dreamcast was a failed console. Not exactly the same.
Sony isnt the type you described. They releases those exclusives for the good of the industry.
How about less subscriptions?
Before you know it gaming will end up just like TV where you need to sign up for half a dozen different services to play what you want.
Yeah the only time I have EVER participated with them is with free trials and very steep discounts(live for $2 for a month for instance)How about less subscriptions?

Instead of shitposting how about you engage normally? What is so surreal to you?
Welcome to 2010. You're already paying for the privilege of receiving discounts by subbing to PS Plus.
I would love if there were higher tier subscription services. There are many possibilities on what they could offer. On the Microsoft side things are easy, MS is probably the one to innovate the most here, they could combine GamePass and Gold into one sub, and Sony could follow and bundle PS Now with Plus at $10-15 a month, especially now that PS Now is basically GamePass with streaming. It'd be nice if they bundled Plus, Now and Vue into one big mega sub.
But what I also want, are bigger benefits in the PS Store: deeper discounts. Imagine a PS Platinum sub that makes every game on the Store -50%, even (select) pre-orders? Paying $30 for new releases, that's how I'd convert to the digital future. Make me pay for discounts!
