Just like she was supposed to be the Ambassador to the UN. They float her name to make it seems like she's being considered for big positions.

Than again, Heather Nauert got the UN gig so who the fuck knows at this point.

It's all to build up her eventual presidential campaign in a couple cycles.

/s... I hope.

It's 2019 and people still think you need "qualifications" or a "phd" to get such a leadership position.

Damn, looks and the right sperm donor really help you in life lol.

But in all seriousness, I think this is a BS report. Not BS reporting as The Financial Times are reputable, but BS that the Trump Administration is floating her name. It's almost as if they are trolling at this point.

Do it.

Because she can be easily swayed away from her father's views, and thus screw him over, in the way he doesn't want.

For those who are unfamiliar with the old President of the World Bank, he's a super sharp individual.
It's just depressing to think about this man who is a strong leader, compassionate, an MD, an anthropologist, and so multi talented could be replaced by Ivanka Trump.

NPR's podcast Freakonomics did an interview with him back in 2015. Give it a listen.

love how we collectively revolted against the idea of monarchy, ridding ourselves of the tyranny of various inbred lunatics with no business ruling, only to build a much more convoluted system that led to the exact same material result

The founding fathers were a direct result of the Enlightenment and a worldwide push for rationality, philosophy and the real advance of science, but the vast majority of them were in some ways already arisitocrats of a sort, in that they held lands, inherited wealth, inherited positions and were groomed for that success. Even an alleged outsider, like Alexander Hamilton was descended directly from Scottish aristocracy, and his "whore" mother was the daughter of a wealthy landowner and gentleman farmer who was only a "whore" in that she had a scndalous affair with... Alexander Hamilton's mildly aristocratic but ne'er do well father. And Hamilton is one of the most common ones. Even as a bastard, no small matter at the time, he's much more Jon Snow than Oliver Twist. Raised in and around society and wealth and sponsored by wealthy men.

He would never have been permitted to marry his wealthy wife without the slight sheen of respectability that even his bastard hybrid status brought to the table and he'd never have gotten that far in the first plkace without it.

American independence was of course driven by resentment of the crown, but all of those founding fathers had some outrageous built in assumptions about wealth and status that wouldn't fly today. And they also contained many deseprate for the elevation in status that they couldn't have through English aristiocracy in this colony, so in some ways decided to make their own.

They talk about meritocracy and enlightened thought, but there was no shortage of built in aristoicratic tendency, systems and families. And they didn't want the hoi polloi voting at all. Much as Greek democracy actually only included the wealthy and aristocratic.

Projects in emerging economies you say? Panama is beautiful this time of year. That's what the Papers say anyway.
You shouldn't call it Panama Papers. We Panamanians hate that name.

I don't care actually. I'm fully aware Panama is a fucking tax haven. But here the media and the Governmet call it the 'Mal llamados Panama Papers' .

It happens when the government gives up on punishing white collar crime with any sort of real consequences while people get killed for stealing food. If they didn't abdicate their responsibility, Trump would have been in prison 30 years ago.

My uncle probably hates that idea. He worked at the world bank his whole life.
Nepotism at work.

Question though, does Trump actually knows what the world bank does?

Yesh, gonna call this as one of those planted rumors that end with people thinking the neocolonial ghoul they eventually nominate is at least "not Ivanka"...

it´s not a given that Ivanka would get elected if nominated since they renewed the election protocol in 2011 towards an emphasis on merits based, there has also been a big push on the board to break US hegemony... so unfortunately I feel confident they will nominate someone like Erik Prince who will fuck the developing countries over so hard - this is the list of the Executive board that elects the director is found here: http://pubdocs.worldbank.org/en/241041541103873167/BankExecutiveDirectors.pdf

God, if you're up there, you've been letting me down recently. But PLEASE don't let this happen. I shudder to think of a Trump leading one of the world's most important financial institutions.

Cue Kushner taking over the FED after firing Powell.

Just think when this family is out of the WH. It's gonna be so bland and normal. We're gonna miss the crazy, the collusion, and the carefree fuck the people aura of the Trumps.

You could always hope for an upset during the Democratic primaries. A Gabbard/Avenatti presidency ought to at least provide a fair bit of entertainment value.

Bolsonaro to get a ton of money to destroy the amazon rainforest? That's how that World Bank mafia operates. Good business.
