I mean, the original TLOU released the week of Sony's E3 presentation that year, which was the big PS4 media blowout, so it's hardly unprecedented.
TLoU 1 released at similar point with the PS4 getting fully revealed around the same time it released.
It's not that big of a loss to disable/hide twitch chat.
Just turn off chat. It's not like it will be useful anyways since it will be going so fast.
Probably early June to separate it a bit from The Last of Us. Hopefully they will just do one big reveal of everything, PlayStation Meeting+E3 style.

For something that's going to release this fall, June is totally fine. In fact if they could convince more developers and get more gameplay videos, then maybe a September reveal would be great too.

They are. Microsoft is having their big first party games event in July. I'd wager most companies are more likely to push their show back than pull it forward.
June is probably about as late as is reasonable for a hardware reveal, though, since the consoles will have to start entering production over the summer, dramatically increasing the chances of leaks. I expect Lockhart to be unveiled in June for the same reason. The designs of both the PS3 slim and the PS4 slim leaked over the summer well in advance of their fall release — Sony would not want the big reveal of the PS5 design to be a factory backroom camera-phone clip, or a drawing from a Foxconn worker.
Is this a single event? I don't really see them revealing the console AND games during the same event. Unless they only show 1-2 games.
Looking forward to the 1st party IP my friend is working on. I'm hoping the reception is good and their efforts have paid off. The game hasn't leaked so far. So hopefully a pleasent surprise for all 😁

Got to be early June because as far as I'm aware the next issue of OPM UK (On sale June 2nd) is about the the games coming to PS5 and how they perform on the console?
