He discussed it in the stream. Wolverine will have an M for mature rating and will likely feature human dismemberment that Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order wasnt able to with its T rating. Its currently targeting fall 2024 but there are talks on potentially pushing it to 2025 based on how the development progresses. And lastly he said it wont be open world and likely to be a semi open/wide linear design, similar to God of War's level design.
Apparently he also talked about the Coalition's new IP but I opened the stream a few minutes late so i missed that part.

I would prefer a full open world over God of War "corridors separating wide-linear maps", personally. Kinda hate God of War's world design style and how blatantly limited by structure it is. Wolverine should be a mixture of urban environments and wilderness so that Logan can use his tracking skills. Set the game in some smallish town in the Pacific Northwest near the Canadian border and bam, perfect setting for a Wolverine story.

M rating should be obvious. No other way to do it.

I wish games target AO too on consoles. I hate the censors they are forcing on consoles during this era while it was not the case before.

if it's anything less than an M then it's not Wolverine to me personally so I'm glad they are actually going for it!

I hope Insomniac work on a Doctor Strange game next connected to the spiderverse. Would be absolutely incredible.

Yea I don't think Wolverine suits an open world the way that Spiderm-man does. Glad they are going wide-linear with it, I don't think that is something we see nearly enough of.

Always happy to see a AAA game eschewing the open world slop.

I'm not the biggest Marvel person and I would've been disappointed to hear Insomniac is making another Marvel game if it was basically anything other than Wolverine. Excited to see more of this.

All I ask is to snikt some bubs without pulling punches. The 90s X-Men TAS cartoon scarred me for life when it comes to how lame Wolverine was due to censors.

M rating is basically my number one wish for it, so that's excellent.

Yep this is the perfect direction. Prob will be a wide linear design for the game. Like how ND games are.

Never been into X-Men. I think I saw the first few X-Men movies back in the day, but never saw Logan or the new X-Men movies. But with Insomniac making this, day 1 no questions.

The 'open world Canadian wilderness' dream is dead!!! :(

well... not really. I have full faith that Insomniac will make this game incredible whether it's open world, semi-open, side-scrolling beat-em up, anti-gravity platformer, etc.
Somewhat linear, yet still a lot of explorability like God of War would be A.OK with me!

Spider-Man 2 in 2023 and Wolverine in early 2025 is crazy but that's to be expected from Insomniac

They're gonna release another Ratchet game in between them too I bet

Dismemberment is in, that's all I wanted to hear. Fallen Order feels like you're beating someone with a baton.

Probably an unpopular opinion here but I wished it was mission based.
But semi open world is also nice.

Much rather have a semi-linear experience with Wolverine. We've already got Spider-Man to cover the open world, so no need for two of them.

I thought they'd only have you dismember Sentinels or other robots, doing this to humans? Oh snap.

In for the glorious fights with the likes of Omega Red, Lady Deathstroke, Silver Samurai and Sabretooth.

M rating will probably make the game much better in overall tone, at least for me. Also GoW's semi-open design is by far my favourite of how the "open world" should be handled in a game like this, so great if that happens.

I was hoping for this, it'll help differentiate it from Spider-Man and hopefully the melee combat is more fleshed out and fulfilling than SM

Linear is good. As funny as "mr wolverine can you help me look for my missing cats in the city with your motorcycle?" I really don't want to do that in this game.

He absolutely does. Like do people forget that one of Wolverine's things is that he's one of Marvel's best hunters and trackers? An open world is perfectly suited for Logan.

You only get AO games from real-life gambling or porno stuff.

lmao what in the world are you talking about

Not really, some extreme gorish horror games ask for AO like Outlast 2 which was updated on PC to remove the censorship but not consoles cus the devs themselves said this would make the game AO for consoles which will ban the game so they dropped the update on consoles.
IIrc, The Geatway PS2 was the first +18 AO game to release and since some games followed. Now it is getting tighter.
