I haven't read through the thread, but I can remember as an 80s kid, getting all excited for the new season of Saturday Morning Cartoons. Hell, TV Guide even had a special edition where they would detail the new shit coming out for the kids. Superfriends with this new dude named Cyborg! Mighty Orbots! Fucking Turbo Teen! The Real Ghostbusters! (Not to be confused with Ghost Busters, which was based on a 70s sitcom that had a gorilla.)

Man, that was a great time to be a kid.

Should have specified American cartoons, my knowledge of European animation from that era is lacking (a quick glance at Wikipedia indicates it's some sort of Japan/Spain collaboration project, which definitely sounds interesting).
