Spotify subscription straight in the trash. I'm sorry I every gave them and this fuck a single cent. They can't crash and burn soon enough. As if the artists being underpaid compared to Apple Music wasn't reason enough.

And the youth loves this pricks show too.

All that "The younger generations will be more liberal" shit dies when you see the reach cunts like this have.

Old conservatives and their Fox News/AM Radio is supplanted by stuff like Rogan who becomes the next gateway to harmful shit via his show man. Its so sad.
percentages tho

Surely there's a part of this interview where Rogan calls Alex Jones a giant piece of shit for starting the Sandy Hook conspiracy theory right?

Is it bad faith at this time to be suspicious in any recent or new white hosted talk show/podcast that talks about general topics now? Seems like sooner or later they will be infiltrated by the alt right audience so they can talk about alt right issues the host may or may not have agreed about in the past?

I'm switching from Spotify Premium to Apple Plus the moment it's available (on a prepaid giftcard subscription until 12/31).

It seems the majority of people are defending this horse shit on just about every other website. 214,000 likes to 8,000 dislikes on YouTube. Absolute fucking vile. Fuck Joe Rogan.

So gross. I know a lot of dudes in real life that worship Rogan, too. I get why. He taps into a certain audience of white dudes who are at least a little toxically masculine whether they know it or not. He also tends to dumb down otherwise complex or hard to understand topics. I've seen some interviews of his that I thought were fine. But increasingly he just comes off as super irresponsible with his massive platform, and has been peddling ill-informed and dangerous ideals which his listeners take as gospel. It's dangerous and gross, and I am disappointed when people I know eat this shit up.
Yep, it's been a slow decline since 2016. To the point I cannot listen to him anymore, it's obvious where he leans politically if you follow politics. The guy spouts right wing talking points constantly, shit from breitbart. I hate that a lot of people listen and have no clue.

My friends are starting to as well. Oddly enough, many aren't white. They are starting to buy into alt-right and conspiracy nonsense more and more.

The weird ass sentiment I see is that apparently everyone know that Alex Jones is crazy, and have seen him characterized as the crazy uncle you invite over to laugh with/at when they spout crazy shit, like the fact that children weren't actually murdered at sandyhook.

I am so tempted to cancel my Spotify, but I honestly have no idea where else to go for music...
Deezer is great if you like discovering new music. Their recommendation algorithm is fantastic, they let you change your "music country" so you get recommendations as if you were in a different country, and they have a hi-fi subscription if you're into that kind of thing.

Not surprising for Joe Rogan, he will never change no matter how much benefit of the doubt you give him. As long as these wingnut loons are lucrative to have on his podcast he will keep on bringing them on and humoring their bullshit. This is who he is.

I knew Rogan was a shitbag, but interviewing Alex Jones is a new level of shitness.
He's done it like 3 or 4 times now. He's also been on Infowars

I could be off base with the white comment. Just sharing what I observe (as a white af male). I guess he probably appeals to a whole bunch of folks with that sort of mentality.

Honestly I should have cancelled after the $100mil deal with Rogan, but subscription inertia is a thing.

I watched a latter part of it and yes it was mostly nonsense. Rogan did push Jones for evidence and often exposed how poor Jones reasoning is but at the same time he kept telling Jones how much he loves him and kept asking him "what is the solution?"

It's like he invited Jones simply for entertainment and did manage to make him look silly in a subtle manner. But that simply isn't good enough for his fans because you can't use subtlety to refute irrational conspiracy theorists.

For every dude who thinks they’re smart enough to not fall for Jones’ bullshit, there’s probably 10 who get pulled in wholehog. This is why I don’t relent when having arguments with friends who like JRE and think they’re above it all. This shit is cliff notes, so a flyby of a guest like Jones or McInnes doesn’t really delve into the depths of why/how guests like these are awful even at surface level. Young men listen to this garbage.

If you use Spotify you are enabling this. There are plenty of music streaming platforms that don't have this filth and hate.

Yeah, I think people underestimate how cunning and savvy Joe can be when it comes to his podcast. For the most part I'd say Joe knows Alex is bullshit but he's such a fucking caricature of a person that a lot of people enjoy watching so he tries to make him comfortable and abet as much as his nonsense as possible to get him constantly coming back on. Alex is solid gold for Joe's podcast, but he's also a dangerous conspiracy theorist that pollutes public discourse with complete horseshit that divides the country and harms real people.

I hadn't heard a peep from alex jones until rogan decided to put him on his podcast. I wonder if that's because of some reason or something

Is Rogan not able to get famous people on his show anymore because he lives in Texas?

Its pretty stupid to move a podcast from LA to Austin because not a lot of guests are going to fly out there but a lot will drive to your studio if it is in the same city.

I wonder how these deals with Simmons and Rogan are going to work out for Spotify.

No way. His podcast is pretty huge. People will gladly fly there for the publicity.
