This is really strange. There was a reporter recently who highlighted to Daisy Ridley that she comes from a more privileged background than John and then he is here saying things like this. I believe what he said was dumb, rather than malacious. I can't imagine him having an issue with Kelly-Marie but he's clearly not thinking about how she is affected. He's gone through something similar when people scoffed at the idea of a black person being a Stormtrooper and now says he was able to shrug his shoulders and say it is what it is, but he should be aware not everyone is going to be affected by discrimination in the same way.

For what it’s worth he joined after 9/11 I believe. The narrative of the tweet was quoting some interview and implied he was bummed because he wasn’t able to kill brown people. It’s all pretty ridiculous, but hey, here we are.

I'd say ignore it TBH. Not worth acknowledging. It's clear that wasn't his intent, and it takes some stretching to try to say it was. I would have never got that from the quote and even reading it knowing how people are taking it... I'm having a hard time. People are looking for reasons to hate, let them. The second you come out to clarify or retract is the second you admit you did something wrong, even though he really didn't. These same people wouldn't forgive him for said "slip up." It'd be more of a, "I knew it! He's trash!" moment, and they've hate on him more.
