Thanks to shadow_shogun for first posting the official NBC call at 4:07PM EST.
Thanks to Taka for the details in this OP.
Ossoff at age 33 will be the first millennial Senator, and the youngest since 1972 when Joe Biden set the record at age 29.
He will also be the first Jewish Senator from Georgia, and the first Jew elected to the Senate from the South since the 1880s.
An investigative journalist and filmmaker, Ossoff used to intern for the late Congressman John Lewis.
Earlier this morning, at around 1:49AM EST NBC News called the other Georgia race for Reverend Raphael Warnock.
Warnock himself made history as only the 11th black Senator in US History (the 7th to be elected), the first from Georgia, and the second elected in the South since Reconstruction (the other being Republican Tim Scott).
Warnock grew up in public housing as the eleventh of twelve children. His mother picked cotton.
He has been the senior pastor at Ebenezer Baptist Church since 2005, where he holds the pulpit that once belonged to Martin Luther King Jr.
The Democratic sweep of these races will give them a 50-50 split in the Senate, with ties broken by Vice President Kamala Harris. The importance of this cannot be overstated.
