But she's a PRETENDER though
I just realized what they meant by that
One of the upcoming Red Issues is going to reveal Scarlet Witch was actually a robot in a hollow plastic body.

Her thing with Vision suddenly makes so much more sense. One of the upcoming Red Issues is going to reveal Scarlet Witch was actually a robot in a hollow plastic body.
Yeah her character and still being marvel girl makes more sense that wayAll of the Jean regression stuff proves this isnt 616 or theyre clones or both. Hickman wouldnt nerf her like that.
Whats striking is the contrast between that scene and the one on top of our very own thread.

I to like cyclops to be dead

The weird idea I've had kicking around in my head is that we could to see a retcon of Giant Size #1: the X-men never left Krakoa. Krakoa didn't send Scott back to Xavier to bring more mutants, but instead sent an exact copy and kept the original to feed on. And when the new team came, Krakoa captured them and sent copies out with false memories. The X-men we've known all these years have been Krakoan copies (even Wolverine, because Krakoa can make adamantium, because why the heck not).
And Charles knew this all along, because this was part of the plan. Moira, too. Including the whole Deadly Genesis arc.
By the end of HoxPox, we'll get the original mutants back, with their copy's memories returned to them by Xavier somehow.

that scene with logan and nightcrawler made me tear up
But that first retcon brought us House of M!The Braddocks are pretenders too, it's just that Merlyn's not as sloppy as old Herbert.
But she's a PRETENDER though

Yes. Wanda claimed to be a mutant (while COMPLETELY shitting on mutantkind in HOM) until revealed to not be a mutant at all during *sigh* Axis.
Fun fact: squirrel girl was also de-confirmed to be a mutant not long after, but this was never followed up with an explanation
I mean, we remember what he did to cykes at the end of time runs out, right? All of the Jean regression stuff proves this isnt 616 or theyre clones or both. Hickman wouldnt nerf her like that.

Mental block? :v
Another great issue but I must say I can't wait for powers, I like the full mystery time line issues more than the more traditional stories when clearly they don't matter. Sure everyone died... so, we know they are still coming back. Also it does the whole since these deaths don't really matter let's have them die in a really basic way. The X-men have battled space gods, traveled through time, fought the most powerful mutants and survived all of it. But a few scientists and guards in a space station and they all die? Which is why so many think they are weak clones.
Now it has some amazing moments, the wolverine stuff is incredible. But I'm ready to get back to the mystery and time travel goodness.
Eh...husk and archangel died in an explosion that shredded a chunk of space station and their starship. This wounded everyone else.
Mystique was blown out of an airlock into deep space.
Monet got killed from being swarmed with armed guards in power suits
Kurt and Logan teleported unprotected into space and were incinerated by solar radiation.
Cyclops got shot with nano sentinels that shut down his powers then blasted in the skull
Jean got torn apart by a half dozen gigantic sentinel drones with more coming.
None of this screams "clone." Way less killed way more Xmen during Rosenbergs run.
Well ofc they'll eventually come back, but how does that ruin the story?
Come on, a team of A list X-men are going to die to a bunch of nobodies. This is a trope done in lots of stories where death isn't permanent and used in a way to further the true plot. The deaths are quickly done even though those characters have survived 100000 times worse situations just so we can move the plot to the real danger where stakes matter. While the issue still did it in a cool way, this story had no bite because we all know they are still going to be alive.
Yeah, I agree with you here. Personally, I'm totally and completely done with the whole "Let's watch a bunch of heroes die" false dramatic device: like most other things in comics, it's been overdone to death. I mean, it was genuinely shocking and interesting back in Days of Future Past but that was nearly 40 years ago and we've had so many "alternate future" diversions since then that it just loses all impact. And then there's shit like Old Man Logan which was basically snuff porn for comics fans.No no it doesn't ruin the story. I'm just saying it's not all that dramatic. These last two issues have not been as interesting as the big world building ones to me where crazy bombs were dropping all over. It's great to get into characters but they were used almost as props to just get to the next crazy time line moment.
With the Incoming teaser having a flower in it and the spoiler nature (which we don't know) surrounding that young mutant Fauna (not Flora, but Fauna), I think the flowers are going to be much more important than they already are.Box/Pox #3 are read. Late again, but whatever.
I'm thinking the flowers that are introduced in #1 will have to come back with some meaning before this run is over, right?
We have seen an abundance of portals by now, but what of the flower that protects from any insight even in krakoa?
I bet that's a bubble where to cloning station is - or where the real versions of the X-Men are hiding while the clones go on suicide missions.
Zub?
Young Cyclops was an awful character, so nah
He never wrote Young cyclops, bub.
wait what, what book am I missing
Adult cyclops came back later with young cyclops memories in Champions and was a cool dude
