Observer is out. Let the scoops rain.

AEW is negotiating with two major networks for a live two-hour weekly show

AEW opened picking up sizable talent and there are very serious negotiations with two major cable stations for a weekly two-hour live prime time television show

MORE TALENT TO BE SUCKED INTO THE GAPING MAW OF THE FED TURNING THEM ALL INTO MOLDABLE SLUDGE READY TO BE PLACED IN THE CORRECT CONTENT FARM

FOREVER FOREVER FOREVER

The unenlightened masses
They cannot make the judgement call
Give up free will forever their voices won't be heard at all
Display obedience
While never stepping out of line
And blindly swear allegiance
Let your carnies control your mind

Don't you worry
You'll be told exactly what to do
I give my people the lives they need
The CONTENT will succeed

The Jacksonville AEW show is expected to happen in July, and they are going to run a third show in Chicago in September.

The second AEW show will be during the summer in Jacksonville, with a large percentage of proceeds going to benefit victims of gun violence. There is still a lot to work out for the show, but it will most likely be in July or closely related to that.

The third show, as yet unannounced, is likely to be in Chicago, possibly back at the Sears Center, over Labor Day weekend with the idea of being the anniversary of the first All In, and would also be a PPV show.

They are looking to bring in Aja Kong for some dates.

Women wrestlers from Stardom and other promotions have been contacted. One of the key ones was Mayu Iwatani, who is unlikely to come. ROH, which also has an affiliation with Stardom, paid for Iwatani's three-year U.S. visa so unless ROH and AWE make a deal, which will be difficult because they are competitors, Stardom feels it would be wrong to have her work against ROH, which also has booked Iwatani for its Madison Square Garden show.

Several Japanese women have been talked about for at least certain dates, including Hall of Famer Aja Kong, but that deal is not believed to be completed. But the Japanese women are being heavily scouted.

They will be running two-hours live weekly in primetime no matter which TV deal they take

While Tuesday Night Dynamite was trademarked and that obviously meant Tuesday was the plan at that time, it is up to the station they sign with and right now Tuesday looks highly unlikely, but two hours of live prime time is still the plan with either deal.

Viper and KLR are both going to WWE

Bea has a WWE offer on the table

*Viper, who is under contract with WOS, which will expire soon, is expected to sign with WWE, for NXT, rather than AEW, which both made offers.

*Kay Lee Ray, also under contract with WOS, is also expected to sign with WWE.

*Bea Priestly, also with WOS, and currently with Stardom, has gotten a WWE offer. At last word, her future was undecided but she and Will Ospreay have talked about getting a place and moving full-time to Japan.

Lars vs. Cena for WM

The other planned match which turned into a behind-the-scenes story this week is one that hasn't been even hinted, John Cena vs. Lars Sullivan.

But Lars is having some anxiety issues

Sullivan, real name Dylan Miley, 30, was scheduled to debut on the main roster, probably in a dark match, on the 1/7 Raw in Orlando. He either didn't show up at the arena, or did and left the building, believed to be due to an anxiety attack.

The office, which is a lot more understanding of mental health issues to do its experience with Mauro Ranallo, talked with him and smoothed things out and everything was fine. He was then supposed to do a dark match at the 1/8 Smackdown tapings in Jacksonville. Not only did he not show up in Jacksonville, but he apparently flew back home to Colorado. Nothing else is known, whether they will change plans or how it will be handled.

Sullivan was scheduled for a monster push. The Cena match was confirmed and logic would say if he was facing Cena in his first big match, with Cena working limited dates and Sullivan being groomed to be one of the top guys in the company, that Sullivan would have won that match. But we were also told that would be premature and that while the match was on the books, there has been no discussion this far in advance regarding the finish.

While this was not told to us directly, all hints and signs pointed to the angle getting started at the Royal Rumble. So the Rumble show will likely tell the story as to whether they will go with this program or not. They may feel it's just something they can work through or they may feel that it's a risk giving that much of a push to him.

For all the talk of NXT UK being cold, it outdrew standard NXT this week

With little in the way of new programming other than the regular Wednesday shows, the ten most-watched shows on the WWE Network this past week were: 1. NXT UK (Gallus vs. Mustache Mountain episode) from Jan. 2; 2. NXT from Jan. 2; 3. Edge & Christian Show; 4. NXT U.K. from Jan. 2 (Pete Dunne vs. Joe Coffey contract signing; 5. NXT from 12/26; 6. TLC PPV show; 7. 205 Live from Jan. 2; 8. New Day's Year in Review show; 9. Botch Club with Gallows & Anderson; 10. NXT U.K. from 12/27

as excited as I am to type Shayna Baszler into stardom world, seriously still no TV options is so frustrating
If you've got a Chromecast then the CastBuddy does the job. It lets you add videos to stream in a queue and you don't have to keep the browser window open like you would if you were just casting the tab.
Urgh, no TV options is garbage. I can just plug my laptop in to the TV, so it's not the end of the world but putting up the price for 0 additional functionality is a bad look.
The extra functionality they're adding is literally in the tweet.

Omega vs Tanahashi got 5.5 stars

Also the tag from Raw's opener and the two tags from SD got 4 stars which is a surprise though I did enjoy the Bar vs Usos a lot

Good on KLR for finally getting that WWE gig
She's worked hard af for it

This should give the women's division some needed top level juice I hope. The gap between Toni and Rhea and everyone else in terms of presentation is big

Imagine if the PROGRESS lads somehow manage to book a compelling women's division lol

Honestly shocked that KLR wasn't signed sooner, when I followed Brit Indies she always stood out as one of the best performers on any show.

Was she wrapped up in WOS or something>?

Yeah

They could have had her after the Mae Young, but they decided not to and she signed a WOS contract

I guess that kind of confirms WOS is dead dead unless they switch the title on this house show tour lol

Yeah, it's a pretty solid foundation if it's KLR, Toni, Rhea, and Viper.

Also people noticed Charlie Morgan wasn't at the PC launch

I don't think anyone that's on the lowest tier deals was.

Cross-posting about the crazy offer WWE made to The Young Bucks

Paul Levesque worked hard at getting all four into WWE. Page was offered main roster money to work NXT, where he'd have been pushed as one of its top stars. The Bucks & Cody were offered strong deals. The Bucks deal was for money roughly the same as WWE champion A.J. Styles, which would have also included BTE being made a regular weekly show on the WWE Network, as well as something I've never heard WWE concede on, which was a six-month window where they could have left their three-year contract if they wanted and weren't happy with their push.

Of course, WWE was fully aware of the Khan deal as this was going down, which was one of the reasons they went so hard in locking up talent of late. The great offer with the six-month window was with knowledge that Khan was not doing the promotion without The Bucks & Cody and signing them would keep them from being opposition. Without them, Khan wouldn't have the star power and stars of All In, meaning he'd likely not have the openings to everything from television to top talent that was necessary.

Those who work in WWE with knowledge of the deal were certain they wouldn't turn it down, and outright told me that they would be debuting at the Rumble, and had a Rumble-to-Mania significant storyline. When they made the decision to go to AEW, they remarked that it was mind-boggling that they would ever get an offer at that level, and even more that they were turning it down. But they did roughly 12 hours of talks with Levesque, who they heavily praised in how he handled everything, in particular seeing the comedy aspect in the skit they did where they superkicked Kazarian dressed up as him over-and-over in what was the public turning down of the offer on BTE.

Though it's worth noting that the rumor is that WALTER has the same kind of escape clause.

Update on the Becky/Rumble situation

Regarding Asuka vs Lynch, there is still talk of Lynch being in the Rumble after that match happens as a surprise entrant, and winning the thing, which would lead to her challenging Rousey. That's not necessarily happening but it was one of the ways potentially to get to her in the match, and then Flair would get in the match another way. Flair could also win the Rumble herself, and then Elimination Chamber would determine who would challenge for the Smackdown title. Lynch could also win the Smackdown title and Flair win the Rumble, although that would lead to only one women's title match on the show. There was also talk of crowning the first women's tag team champions on Mania, but that also was just something talked about and not anything said to be definite.

Last note is a sad one. I asked about him the other day, but let's pour one out for our boy Tino. Sounds like his in-ring career is pretty much over.

There was talk of giving Tino Sabbatelli a look as a TV announcer. Sabbatelli has been having issues since his recent surgery and the description to us is the situation is similar to that of Jason Jordan. But he hasn't been cleared to return and may not be any time soon.

Worth noting that Viper probably got paid pretty well if Dave is right that both AEW and WWE were bidding for her

Mandy Rose wins the Rumble and nearly beats Ronda at WrassleMania, Charlotte and Becky get to the Tag finals to lose to Duke and Shafir. Sasha and Bayley are in the not Fabulous Moolah battle royal on the pre-show where they're murdered/eliminated by Shayna who wins. Sasha and Bayley are never heard from again.

Trying to get Aja Kong is a good sign they're at least marginally more aware of the joshi world, so that's nice. There are a handful of great alternatives to Mayu and I hope they have the awareness to pursue them.
