I had some downright magical experiences with this game. Like, damn. Nothing's come close to some of those journeys I took back in the PS3 days.
Journey appeared on the Steam database a while ago, i doubt Epic is responsible for it coming to PC, they just paid for the store exclusivity.
Sony isn't publishing it. TGC likely had rights to release it themselves after a certain amount of time or got permission like with Alan Wake and Microsoft.
Annapurna is, and they are also publishing a lot of the other exlcusive to epic store stuff. So Epic likely is leading the charge a bit here via that relationship.
Sony still owns the IP unlike AW where Remedy owned the IP themselvesSony isn't publishing it. TGC likely had rights to release it themselves after a certain amount of time or got permission like with Alan Wake and Microsoft.
Sony still owns the game and so, will get $$$ from it.Sony isn't publishing it. TGC likely had rights to release it themselves after a certain amount of time or got permission like with Alan Wake and Microsoft.

Prepare to reject dozens and dozens of totally legit friend requests from real live people who are definitely not bots.hmm free games huh. I'll have to reinstall Epic's launcher.
... and remember my password.
oh no the Epic Games Launcher is actually Skype? 😟Prepare to reject dozens and dozens of totally legit friend requests from real live people who are definitely not bots.
I wonder why they bother doing this when they can just publish the games themselvesIf this is like Flower, then it's a situation where Sony licenses out the IP to Annapurna to be published on other platforms.
Sony historically are okay with some first-party IP games not being exclusive to their platform, probably as part of whatever strategic experimentation. For example, Counterspy and Helldivers.
I believe this is the second Sony published PS exclusive to come to PC, after Helldivers. They own this IP.
Yup. And Annapurna is basically SSMs old indie arm so that relationship is there.Sony owns the IP. They have licensed it out to Annapurna for the PC release only.
probably not from each copy sold tho, annapurna likely paid a one-time fee to license the game from them so they can publish it.
Pretty sure you do need it. Only time is plus isn't needed is for free to play games if I'm remembering correctly

Title is misleading, it should say coming to Epic launcher only.
