I'm also going to put in a strong word for no cell phones. I moved from a state that didn't care to one where you'll get pulled over for using one. The baseline quality of driving is so much better here, it's shocking. I rarely see anyone running a red light or nearly hitting a pedestrian here, and it was a daily thing in the old city.

Assume everyone around you is a fucking lunatic and ready to snap. Stay cool, stay polite, back off. You seem someone coming in fast behind you? You know they'll squeeze in front of you if they can so back off and let em.

Stay with the flow of traffic when it's safe. If it's not? Don't.

Don't rage.

Communicate. Use you blinkers.

Finally: Leave early and if you're in a rush realize you should have planned better. Nothing is worth your life. Stay safe.

And yea, for fucks sake: Stay off your cell phone. If you use it for GPS, set that shit before you leave. Don't touch your phone.
