Like watching I was like yeah Phoenix is amazing but holy fuck am I bored
It was the weirdest cognitive dissonance I've had watching a movie
If any Zack Snyder movie was going to get a generous curve it's this one. And hey, I'm legit happy to see it.

It's a completely empty movie.
It's Gus Van Sant's Psycho if someone gave an Oscar winning Bates performance
The movie makes this gigantic deal (while spelling it out in the most obvious way) to make this super daring and shocking statement - "Hey guys... the Joker might be crazy!"

I remember watching in a Saturday matinee in Munich (in OV) and the cinema was packed. 90% of the people after the film were like “that was shit and I got trapped in the hype train”
I just didn't feel anything
Like i could objectively observe it was a great performance
But nothing around it mattered
It was boring
I mean, you don't get to $1B with an R rating if 90% of people hated it. But sure man, lmao
This is quite a take (for some people) but I feel Adam Driver got robbed last year at The Oscars.
Not saying Phoenix’s performance was bad but I feel Adam was incredible in “Marriage Story”.
It’s called marketing + hype and it worked beautifully for Joker.

I wish I only found it boring. For me it's contemptible trash that makes me feel gross just for watching, dressed up to look like something it's clearly not -- not well made, not thought-provoking, not clever.
