I'm usually in favor of this, unless they butcher the Japanese/Korean/Mandarin/etc. translation from one language to the other,* or when songs are tailored to specific markets and don't work as well being "localised" elsewhere. Not sure how Izone's first Japanese single would come across in Korean.

This track randomly started playing on my Spotify shuffle. Thought it was a mistake at first (guess I missed the leak last year) but looks like its the first track from the soundtrack for their upcoming mobile game BTS World:

Can't believe she mostly composed and wrote Outta My Head, it's a really good track, and her voice shines on it!
BIRTHDAY is... gonna be a bit more difficult to get into. It's not bad, but it's not enough for me. That empty chorus is really a big weak point. The bridge is fun, and the verses are ok, but I'm a bit disappointed overall. It might grow on me though, hopefully. Still gonna stream it cause she's my ride or die, and I've missed her so much after 3 years of waiting, I'm so happy she's finally back ;__;
EDIT: Yep it's growing on me for sure, I just have beef with that drop chorus that feels out of place.

Nah don't worry, I relate. The song hella grew on me now though, and I think it's a much solid track overall, but that habit of inserting beat drop empty choruses everywhere needs to stop. I usually didn't mind in the past, but here it felt hella forced, while the rest of the song is so fun and nice overall. Here's to hoping her comeback will not have the same weaknesses (or that she should compose it haself cause girl is hella more talented than I thought she'd be, I'm still in awe of Outta My Head, it's such a lovely solid bside!).
The song's debuted 8th on Melon, and is charting 1st on Naver & Bugs, which, ugh, I never expected. I'd hoped for a top 20 Melon debut at best, but this blows my mind!
It's not bad chorus is a little odd but the rest of the song is decent.
Pretty much, and it just goes to show how forced Blackpink's persona is because she does a great job at mimicking the way they rap, just like they did a good job at mimicking 2NE1. It's basically all Teddy. You could toss any idol into that role and the songs would sound the same.
Idk, I'm just tired of that sound/look. Even the video seems like something they'd do. They're not even trying at this point.

It still is shocking to me, in a way. You don't often see Minzy or Taeyeon show support to a lot of people, truly. Somi really is a hell of a social butterfly and manages to befriend everybody wherever she goes, that's one of her strength and part of her appeal.
Drop sucks, rest of the song is great. Glad for Somi and I hope she hits it big.
