A remaster, huh. Not sure if I want it.

Judging from the descriptions, they only improved the graphics and nothing else. Depending on the upgrade, let's see if I can get excited for this.

Good call. I was thinking I should get around to playing this a while back.

Remastered helps

Huh. I really enjoyed playing through that game. And the DLC was worthwhile too, from what I remember.

I hope they add some good QoL stuff to this version. Also new weapons would be nice, but i don't they would go that far.

I absolutely adored this game last gen, one of my all time favorites. A remaster would be absolutely amazing. Hope by some small chance we could get a sequel one day.

Pretty interesting combination of like, DMC and an MMO, in the form of a single player RPG. Deserved to be a series with tweaked gameplay sequels.

Going for that 'Worst Remaster Title Pun' crown, but it's going to be hard to top those Darksiders ones.

Ah, the best 7/10. Re-Reckoning is a perfectly crappy THQNordic pun.

FWIW, the release date on the MS page -- 11/8/2020 (UK, so August) -- which seems specific enough to not be a placeholder. Then again, it does also say the file size is only 100MB

Oh nice I remember reading somewhere that it had been picked up again. I had a lot of fun with the original, but I would hope it will include some improvements to retain the challenge throughout the game. The end of the game was a cakewalk after all. Might give this another try.

I wonder if they'll change anything about how absurdly easy it was to break the game. Like with minimal effort you could trivialize most of the game's challenge.

Whoa that's awesome! If Curt Schilling is in any way associated or profits from this, no fucking way I'm touching it.

If there's no gameplay change then I won't bother, it's just too easy of a game, even on the hardest difficulty.

Which is a shame because I like the combat system and while the game does feel generic, I would still recommend it others if they are in need of a big RPG as long as they know the story and characters aren't that great.

It was a pretty fun game. My favorite was one of the DLCs where you met a race of giant Greek statues. They were essentially civilized giantkin, but still have some of their relatives brutality. I was endlessly amused by their philosophy debates which always had to be concluded with a "might means right" battle to determine the victor.

It wasn't a perfect game, but the gameplay was fun and I thought the world was pretty charming. This is maybe one of those situations where you buy it just to support the idea of a sequel.

Alright, I'll ask, Curt Schilling has nothing to do with this anymore, right? So by buying this game he doesn't earn a dime?

Cuz no way am I giving money to his Trump-supporting, racist, sexist, Yankee-hating, Nintendo-hating ass.

I'm thinking EA is testing the waters for a sequel if enough people get interested. But at least if they're willing to bring back something as "obscure" as Kingdoms of Amalur, then hopefully a Mass Effect remaster is in the cards...

EDIT: This is published by THQ Nordic, not EA. Disregard the EA remarks.

Hopefully they've changed the way level scaling works in this game or it'll just be very busted again.

IIRC, it was originally designed to be a MMO

It was actually that they were going to release an MMO based in the same world. I can't remember if this was a separate jumping off point exactly for why they led off with this but the MMO was its own thing. I think the project name was Copernicus.

I hope this leads to a sequel. Honestly this was one of my favourite games despite its flaws. I'll be buying it again.

I absolutely love the trend of remakes/remasters having hilarious names.
Darksiders 1 Warmastered
Darksiders 2 Death-initive
Red Faction Guerrilla: Re-Mars-tered

Regarding this remake, I never played much of it originally (just a bit of the demo I think), but I'd be willing to give it a shot, especially if it ends up on Switch as well.

if they can add like 5 more difficulty levels, this will be great

have to do some wonky cheatengine stuff to make the original game fun

I think this would be the last game they would even consider for a sequel.

RPG's take a lot of time an investments... I really just don't see it happening (Especially with EA at the helm).

I'm disappointed that it's just a remaster, but damn I'm glad to see KoA again! I really hope we can get a sequel out of this.

What a weird thing.

I wanted to like this game a whole lot. It has all the ingredients for an amazing RPG, but I found it lacking in the execution. Made it probably about halfway through before I dropped it out of boredom.
