Money + probably feels like it legitimatizes his games or elements of them a bit.
why have your characters drinking generic stuff when a company will pay your game to have your characters promoting their brands.

Fun fact because I just watched Kiki's Delivery Service last night: Yamato owns the trademark for the term " 宅急便 ", "takkyubin" in the Japanese title of Kiki, but they let Ghibli and the author of the book Kiki is based on use it for free because of the fact that their mascot is a little black cat like our boy Jiji.
