Seems that is a free pass to ill-treatment to employees. Then again on the other hand, I swear people were saying they are boycotting Konami, so no reason for Konami to make AAA games if they are going to flop because of the boycott.
That's my observation.
The main reason why some companies get raked over the coal and some don't is heavily dependent on whether they made a good game or not.
Sure there might be the initial outrage and backlash, but the only way the fire keeps burning is if the game sucks.
The sad thing is. Except for AAA product, Konami effort on A or B games, Arcade or even mobage is all absolutely quality. But due to the hate for no AAA games and No Kojima. It have become F Konami since i dont know how long.
Ehhhhh I'm not sure their newer mobile games are quality. Like, I don't think there was any new art assets when I played LovePlus.
PES, Jikkyou Power Pro, Jikkyou Soccer and Yugioh all is quality though.0_0
I feel like they should definitely be using all of the old asset just because they're already there.
Not sure I'd say that's indicative of anything. As a smartphone game, there'll always have to be new content added, and after a few months then I'd feel more comfortable judging them on that one.

Who cares, if they're not offering what you want then it doesn't matter how successful they are. I hate how some people pretend that just because a company is successful, it means all of their actions are justified. If all the stories about them treating their employees like trash are true, I don't see any reason to support Konami further unless some major changes are made, regardles of their financial success.
Is that just a gambling joke or do they actually have somthing popular in Vegas?
I dont get it.... we are speaking about Konami. They arent even close in term of disrespecting their employees. Did Rockstar removed a producer name from a game, did they forbid an developer to get an award he deserve ?....

I dont care about rockstar, i just like their games. I used to like Konami games a LOT until they treated their most famous developer like a dog. Im NOT saying that the other companies are better. did i say that ?... I mean we cant talk about how shitty Konami is because other companies do the same ???

No one here is saying that Konami doesn't have shit work practices, nor that they don't deserve criticism for those work practices. But to say that Konami should burn in hell while at the same time blithely ignoring that the AAA game developer you choose to represent you in your forum icon has a long history of toxic workplace practices of their own is comical.
Gotta say, I do appreciate that at least Castlevania is getting some recent love that isn't the mobile game or "Erotic Violence" lol. It has a TV show that is enjoyable, got some awesome rep in smash, and two collections, which the anniversary one in particular looking to be quite good (hell Konami even just announced that the JP versions will be available to all in a later patch, so that's nice). Guess it helps that Bloodstained is a thing also through. XD
If you dont like konami for how they treated an employee (And probably many others), why do you still like Rockstar games when they treat their employees the same or worse?
You should be honest and say: I dont care about their employees, but just Kojima.
Rockstar is known for their brutal long hours, causing depression on their employees, breaking their families, between others, yet you care more about a price or a name credit.
Konami is one of the largest developers of video-style slot machines in the world right now, alongside companies like Aristocrat, WMS/Scientific Games, Bally's, and IGT,
They actually are one of the few companies developing new types of large-scale gambling systems, pulling some cues from their Arcade roots.
That Fortune Cup horse-racing simulation game you've seen pictures of in these reports over the last couple years has been super-successful and is a highly sought after piece of hardware in casinos.
You'd be hard pressed to walk into a casino anywhere in North America, and most places worldwide, and not see banks of Konami machines.

And you probably should read the financial statement more? MGSV is released in 2015. And the year after the shift to more to smaller budget game and mobage, their growth rise by 12+% which more than what MGSV ever did(9%) so no the shift indeed benefit and lead to the growth Konami is having.
And sure. U guys can go enjoy other AAA game there as there is abundant of AAA gaming companies anyway. While some here or dare i say mass audience can enjoy Konami quality mobage and arcade product.

Nobody forcing them to work long hours, it is how they operate and they can move somewhere else if they dont like the business strategy/way to operate. Its all about choice in life.

Just because it's not explicitly in their schedule doesn't mean they aren't forced to do it in order to meet the baseline for retention during performance reviews or not get passed over for promotions.
And as Rockstar is far from the only company that does this, you can't just up and move to avoid bullshit when the bullshit is everywhere.
Hence the logic behind critiquing all of these companies until they all stop, be it Rockstar, Konami, or whatever. So Rockstar is as much of a viable target as anyone else, if not moreso.
Well, RIP, I'll miss the Konami of old years, but clearly this is the most profitable way for them to operate, so I guess we won't see much actual video games from them in the future.

Meh, I have all the Contra/Castlevania games in their OG formats. So the collections aren't too hype for me. I admit I'm a special case though.
Being physical would surely help me to buy them though! :P
Contra is the collection i have been wanting as playing them on switch will be a blast with split joycons lol. I can literally let any of my friend to suffer on contra with me together.... on the go lol.
