I wanna hear from people in the know here, we all know corruption is prevalent in all areas of life where there's money involved, politics, sports, media, etc.
Now how prevalent is it in the video game industry? We don't hear much about these things, so I guess bribery is used a lot? Or people in the industry are just better at covering it up with threats, etc.

I've been screaming for years about how Randy Pitchford is a scumbag. This is unfortunately not surprising to me. There has always been something about him that just seemed off to me. Hopefully the trial will result in the truth coming out. I just hope nobody at Gearbox (except Randy) loses their jobs as a result of this lawsuit.
Completely terrible if truth, but this lawyer dude does seem to be throwing everything and the kitchen sink in this lawsuit, so it could be all bullshit.

If this turns on to be true.... dam. I use to look up to the guy back in the day... but slowly it became clear how greedy he was and now this.... this is the final nail in the coffin if this is true. My question is, would gearbox survive if these allegations are proven true? Is it possible to just kick Randy out and continue as normal? Well, as normal as you can after a sh*t show like this...
Do you say this with any accusation made against predators or just right now because he's a prominent dev?
I'll say it's because this guy is getting sued by Gearbox for millions himself for misuse of corporate cards and such

It depends on the law around it, which I do not recall in regard to something like this specifically. But for example, if someone told you that they killed someone and this is where they buried the body, you're not supposed to say anything since no one is actually in any danger (Crime is already committed). If you said, "I have someone tied up in my basement," then yes, you're complicit if you don't do something because you're allowing harm to occur. But there are different standards for what is and is not considered active or premeditated harm depending on the sort of crime. This feels like a strange middle ground and I'd also question how much duty this lawyer has to Pitchford specifically.
This question seems a little loaded. Do you bring this point up anytime someone mentions waiting for evidence or only when people have preconceived opinions about the accused?
I would hope this applies to every situation, but regardless, it is still a good suggestion to wait for further evidence before immediately believing every accusation. We shouldn't assume accusations are immediately true just because he is a prominent dev either.
Can you explain why this lawyer is likely legally covered even if they claim they knew about these things before? I'm pretty sure I know why but I'm not a lawyer.
Thanks for that. Here's hoping it turns out to be a load of bull. The child abuse inherent in allegations like this just make you hope they aren't true. But if they are he should be thrown in jail to rot with his likeminded peers.
Can't Pitchford counter sue for Libel? Those are EXTREME accusations to make without having hard evidence (not implying that the prosecution doesn't have strong evidence). I assume the FBI would need to get involved to investigate the CP accusations?

The accusation in this instance is originating from a lawyer who got sued first for allegedly running up massive bills for personal expenses on company credit.
There's no real way to sift through this at the moment.
