I don't understand why the USB thing has gone unheard until now. Wouldn't whoever found the drive check out it's content and report it? Unless randy sent someone, possibly the layer himself, to clean his tracks and were lucky to get the drive back.

There's also the possibility the tweet only refers to the main body/title of the article. It would be best not just to automatically assume everything is true.
Calling a tweet that provides zero context or details a second source is quite generous

It is unclear what he is referring to as being true. Whether this is the twelve million dollar bonus, the other accusations, some of it, or all of it.

I'm not assuming anything, read my posts. I actually said that if he wasn't talking about all the allegations, it wasn't a particularly sensible tweet. I was just providing a bit of insight on the law.

We need to know that the USB drive actually exists. An initial complaint filing is not where the truth typically lies, in my experience. (Yes I am in the legal field)

It doesn't seem like any USB stick is in evidence/been presented. It's a comment based on a verbal accusation only.
I personally think Pitchford is a lying piece of shit, but even then I believe everyone should have the right to clear their name if they're truly innocent.
This is an extremely serious accusation but we have to remember that at this point it still is just an accusation, and as yet an unproven one.
Also , how many cases of bringing up past disgusting allegations need to occur before people drop the " Well why not bring it up back then?". Come on people

Yeah at least the lawyer might even have had an ethical obligation to keep Pitchford's secrets if he also acted as a personal attorney.
But I do wonder if Eddings is just confirming the bonus story. But that part just seems like Pitchford being Pitchford.
That episode was indeed shady but it doesn't relate to these allegations.
No, it could be the same as Jimmy Saville here in the UK. Lots of people around the BBC had heard rumours, and so were aware he was a creep. Most assumed he was targeting 14/5year olds (16 is age of consent here in UK), but nobody knew the extent of what he was up to.
I'm not totally knowledgeable in the field, but I'd think there would be some confidentiality clause he'd have to abide by, as a lawyer to his client. Now that he's no longer employed and being sued by them, he can speak out on it due to Gearbox no longer holding his livelihood at stake.
If most lawyers came out with all of the shady shit their clients pulled, the world would be a better place, but alas.

There is allegedly a USB with these things on it. Or...there is a USB and it allegedly has these things on it. whichever. This was back in 2014. Where is the USB now? Who knew what was on it? How did they know?

The thread isn't only about the pedophilia allegations, I don't think this poster was equating that incident to those.
If the lawyer was his personal attorney, he could have known because Randy could have confided in him looking for legal advice.
That's my only guess that lets the lawyer potentially off the hook for the knowledge; Eddings or anyone else on the other hand is a different story. But I have no idea if this guy was a personal attorney for Pitchford.

It sounds like this USB stick isn't itself part of their evidence. Just what they've heard about what was allegedly on it.
At the same time though, everyone is talking about the Child Porn accusations. I can't imagine that Edding isn't referring to that, unless he comes out and tries to make a bad joke out of his tweet.
How does his tweet imply anything? There are multiple accusations.
