I don't see where it's accusing him of stealing.

It says he negotiated a personal bonus and kept it secret. The rest is the lawyer accusing him of exploitation and maybe vaguely suggesting it's fraudulent behavior because he told employees money was short.

But it says outright the publisher gave him a personal bonus. The lawyer twists this later to make it sound like it was somehow illegal.

I think it's just Pitchford being a greedy asshole and unfortunately nothing illegal.

I edited my post to say taking instead of stealing, but it being a secret is pretty telling as to the shady nature of it.

here
It definitely won't hold up in court, but the lawyer probably knows well enough how hearing it from a 3rd party can be leveraged to clear himself from a slander suit.
yeah, I didn't think of that, the lawyer likely didn't add that accusation lightly but I doubt he'd leave himself open to a slander case willingly

A bonus given by a publisher isn't stealing.

It's greedy if you want, but it isn't stealing. There's no need to alter the presented accusations to fit your narrative right now

Ok, not stolen then but the shady practise surrounding the money.

Which is history of shady practise gives indication of.

Searching @duvalmagic "lawyer", lots to do with ongoing case, but is this the person making the accusations?

Callender's most lurid allegation against Pitchford is an accusation surrounding an event that he says occurred in 2014. Callender says that Pitchford left a USB drive in a Dallas, Texas restaurant containing sensitive corporate documents for Gearbox and its partners including 2K Games, Sega, Sony, Microsoft, and others. Says the lawsuit: "Upon information and belief, Randy Pitchford's USB drive also contained Randy Pitchford's personal collection of 'underage' pornography."

Callender also accuses Pitchford of holding parties in which "adult men have reportedly exposed themselves to minors, to the amusement of Randy Pitchford."

So they are still hanging out in 2016? Unless he's claiming he only heard about the 2014 event after it?

Cause imagine claiming you knew of the 2014 incidents and still hanging out with Randy afterwards. Then again these accusations also involve the potential for other employees or ex-employees to know of them and have been silent.

What a mess.

edit: I'll embed the tweet instead of screencap

Secret bonuses for non public traded companies is nothing new, isn't illegal as far as I know nor shady (provided it was properly declared to the irs).

We get it, you don't like Pitchford but this thread is serious enough without bringing emotions into it

according to Jason in the OP, that accusation is hearsay at this point as the lawyer has no first hand knowledge or proof with his case

so unless the lawyer is keeping something under wraps, and if no one else can provide evidence, then Randy will likely sue for damages, yeah
The statement was made in an affidavit 'upon information and belief', i.e. he can honestly say that it's something that he heard and believed to be true. By qualifying it as information and belief it protects him from claims of perjury or dishonesty.

No emotions, just facts. The guy is shady af, has a clear history of lies and deceit. This is clearly relevant.

The Sega situation and the artist situation have nothing to do with the allegations. You're merely trying to create a link where none exist to convince yourself.

Man can this guy take a serious situation any less seriously?

Pitchford sure surrounds himself with questionable people.

"Yes it's true my former boss throws pedophile parties, here are some memes."

Yeah, I can't quite say I understand liking those. One and it might just be accidentally liking whilst scrolling through @ mentions, but two?

Who knows. He knows he's lit a powderkeg online so we just have to wait for whatever is next.

The case is about the alleged violation of legal duties.
Pitchford has a history of shady practise.

It's relevant, the man is and always has been a con-artist and a liar.

There is now a secondary source, right above your post.

Again...I hope for the sake of decency and not needing another story about how hard people suck he is referring to the money issue and not child porn.

And if it's true and now people keep coming out to confirm it like... where is your moral drive? Why wait so long? Is a career or your image in an industry worth letting a fucking scumbag continue to scum?

What a garbage situation.

So if Mr. Eddings is talking about the underage porn and/or fetish parties then why he is just now coming out about it? If it is true wouldn't he be an accomplice since he knew about this for so long and did nothing (similar to ole Joe Paterno at Penn State).
Yup. If that's what he is referring too this Eddings guy is a giant piece of shit and deserves prison time

I've never hid the fact that I absolutely detest Randy but these are some really serious allegations and I wouldn't feel comfortable validating them until we have more confirmation or evidence regarding them.

Everything too cryptic unless my eyes are just looking for things. Someone who works with Microsoft.

Hey guys, I wouldn't look to closely at this. The nature of twitter means that someone could see this man's originally cryptic tweet completely out of context of the Pitchford story (as in they haven't even heard this news), and just think he's making a sarcastic joke about himself. If I tweet out "It's all true" people would tweet back similar things as this woman did. I would ignore most of the replies.

True, but I would advise it would be a good idea to delete your tweet once you know what you've responded to lol.

Pitchford is a piece of shit and I have no issues with him being investigated, but it pains me to believe that somebody would be dumb enough to carry around (and lose) an unencrypted USB drive that contains both sensitive corporate documents AND CP. Interested to see where this goes

Could be that he knew but didn't have any evidence.

Bizarrely enough, Pitchford corroborates some of the story's details by appearing on a podcast that went live one day after Callender's suit was filed. On the December 22 episode of The Piff Pod, Pitchford talks at length about porn that he enjoys watching, including "camgirl" pornography, in which a host exposes themself to a live feed and takes requests and financial tips from consumers. Pitchford explained that he was "a consumer of this content." He confirmed that he copied a specific video "to this memory stick" to, as he describes it, "work out the method" of how a camgirl host faked the act of female ejaculation. (Be warned: he describes how the video looks in particularly graphic detail.)
"I realized, this is not a sex worker," Pitchford said on the show. "This is a fucking magician." Pitchford, for those unaware, has a vested interest in the field of magicians and owns the magic-focused Genii Magazine.

he one upped his tweeting of battleborn porn

"I realized, this is not a sex worker," Pitchford said on the show. "This is a fucking magician." Pitchford, for those unaware, has a vested interest in the field of magicians and owns the magic-focused Genii Magazine.

"This was before I learned I should probably have password-protected memory sticks," Pitchford says, before admitting that he had indeed left a USB flash drive at a Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament restaurant. "Some kid, an employee of Medieval Times, discovered this memory stick, took it home... and discovered secrets of my company and future games in development, and also discovered the pornography. It was 'barely legal' porn. This girl's handle was 'Only 18.'" The USB flash drive was returned to Gearbox, Pitchford says, in exchange for "swag" and video games.

Pitchford claimed that the flash drive arrived at the studio while Pitchford was on vacation, so his executive assistant checked its contents. "Before I know it, I think the entire office looked at it. And there was one piece of content on here. And it never occurred to any of them that the reason why there was just that single porno was because of the magic trick, not because of [pause] I don't know whatever the fuck they thought." Later in the podcast, Pitchford suggests putting this "Only 18" performer "on the cover" of a future Genii Magazineissue.
