If there's one thing that makes me laugh, it's people's preference to type legally damning evidence in a format that's broadcast in public to absolute strangers.

People who knew are total scum if there's something to be known. Let evidence see the light of day.

Edit: Literally as I was typing this, the news of him confirming the porn drive is posted. What a weird story and I guess okay explanation? I can see it happening?

What's very funny is how fucking stupid you must be to leave an unprotected USB stick with sensitive company briefs and porn on a dining table.

Oh my fucking god, Randy. Even if it turns out it didn't contain underage porn, who the fuck does that. Why would you put porn and buisness files on the same USB? Why would you then bring it to a godamn restraunt?

The party for rich men exposing themselves to minors sounds like one of those nasty sex cults (secret club) that conspiracy nuts like to talk about.

Disgusting.

I've heard stories of a cokehead Pitchford driving around for a long time in the U.K. demanding to go to his favourite restaurant. While his business meeting associates starved on the car, he tried to find the location by just having someone drive him around for ages. All that for a fucking Nando's too.

I'd believe Pitchford has some dark shit locked away after hearing how insane that day was.

Man can this guy take a serious situation any less seriously?

Pitchford sure surrounds himself with questionable people.

"Yes it's true my former boss throws pedophile parties, here are some memes."
It's still gross, but I'm inclined to believe this (that it's "barely 18" and not CP) over multiple people knowing something incredibly illegal and not reporting it.

Or maybe it's preemptive spin.

If it's a camgirl I doubt she's holding up a driver's license to the screen at the start of a show. I dunno, messy situation. Regardless of whether the video of the girl in question was underage or not, this sounds like it'll hurt Randy and Gearbox quite a bit going forward.

This story is completely ridiculous, what the hell. You can't make this shit up. A lot of people are going to look really gross no matter what the outcome of this trial is.

I honestly never would've thought of Randy in that light. Shitty magician, sure - his bits made every Gearbox panel at PAX insufferable. But this? Yikes.

I'm consistent in saying everyone deserves due process before lynching them based on accusations...

...but damn, when there's so many varied serious accusations by unrelated people you're either the unluckiest victim of circumstances....or you're a bad guy.

The preponderance of evidence based on a trail of accusations and lawsuits at least points to Randy being a shitty person and not fit to lead an organization of people. Feel bad for the employees.

Assuming the girl is legal it's still sketchy as fuck and doesn't paint Pitchford in a particularly good light

Trying to dissect a cam girl's porn to find a "magic trick?" what the fuck?

Thanks for linking this. I'm still making a very "uhhhh" face about the whole story. I'm not sure in what universe someone looks at the lawsuit filed by Wade Callender and says, "yeah, a very good legal response to these accusations of mishandling corporate secrets and general corporate malfeasance is to go on a podcast, talk about female ejaculation, and confirm a bunch of the suit's sensational details while insisting everything was 'barely legal' and '18-and-up.'"

No disagreement there. This whole thing is disgusting and there really isn't anything but speculation anyway so I'm out of here.

If he's "studying" the video for means of deducing the operations of an illusion, you don't need video for that. You can make up any and all manner of how something might be done using only your imagination. People who aren't magicians do it all the time ("it was wires", "the four of clubs was in your pocket", etc.), and though it doesn't necessarily matter if they're right or not, it doesn't stop people from using their imaginations.

There are so many stories in the history of magic about magicians seeing a trick, routine, or illusion that left a great impression on them, so much so that they went back and spent time workshopping how such a trick might be done, often coming up with something new or different in the process. Without video.

Why in the world would he choose to reverse-engineer this, and in this way, is something I DON'T want to use my imagination to try and figure out.

If any parts of the child pornography or parties where people expose them selves to younger people is true, then his acts are entirely deplorable and unforgivable.
Bizarrely enough, Pitchford corroborates some of the story's details by appearing on a podcast that went live one day after Callender's suit was filed. On the December 22 episode of The Piff Pod, Pitchford talks at length about porn that he enjoys watching, including "camgirl" pornography, in which a host exposes themself to a live feed and takes requests and financial tips from consumers. Pitchford explained that he was "a consumer of this content." He confirmed that he copied a specific video "to this memory stick" to, as he describes it, "work out the method" of how a camgirl host faked the act of female ejaculation. (Be warned: he describes how the video looks in particularly graphic detail.)

"I realized, this is not a sex worker," Pitchford said on the show. "This is a fucking magician." Pitchford, for those unaware, has a vested interest in the field of magicians and owns the magic-focused Genii Magazine.

"This was before I learned I should probably have password-protected memory sticks," Pitchford says, before admitting that he had indeed left a USB flash drive at a Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament restaurant. "Some kid, an employee of Medieval Times, discovered this memory stick, took it home... and discovered secrets of my company and future games in development, and also discovered the pornography. It was 'barely legal' porn. This girl's handle was 'Only 18.'" The USB flash drive was returned to Gearbox, Pitchford says, in exchange for "swag" and video games.

Pitchford claimed that the flash drive arrived at the studio while Pitchford was on vacation, so his executive assistant checked its contents. "Before I know it, I think the entire office looked at it. And there was one piece of content on here. And it never occurred to any of them that the reason why there was just that single porno was because of the magic trick, not because of [pause] I don't know whatever the fuck they thought." Later in the podcast, Pitchford suggests putting this "Only 18" performer "on the cover" of a future Genii Magazineissue.
If this happens to be the case (what was quoted above) and nothing else then I only see it as stupid; the fact he put pornogrpahic material on a company USB drive/with company materials. It reminds me of an ex-boss who had a movies folder on his company drive that had a bunch of downloaded movies like Arrivial and Fight Club and then there was just one porn file in the mix - pretty bog standard too.

Like I said if the above is the truth and there was no child porn (just barely legal porn) and he didn't do host these parties that he's been accused of, then he is just stupid but having footage of a cam girl isn't "bad" it's just dumb to put it on USB drive that you use for work along with other sensitive company materials.

Complete side note but if Randy does have a fascination with how this girl became a magician on cam then he should listen to my Albanian friends stories. She's an ex-cam girl who worked in a studio and she's told me some crazy stories about what she saw other girls do in that studio, from this "magician trick" to smearing poop — yeah not pleasant to say the least. But because my friend did this for a while (cam girl) I guess my views on this topic is probably more positive than others and that's why I just think it's stupid of Randy to have footage of that saved on his USB drive... especially one he took out in public.

This all said, we have no idea what brought up in this case is true or not. So with that in mind I'll tend to believe none of it fully, but be sceptical of Randy going forward that's for sure. Bad time for this sort of negative spin to be put on Gearbox too with the announcement of Borderlands 3 just around the corner - but hey time waits for no one and the truth with come out eventually... don't be a slime ball people, it catches up with you, no matter how 'secret' you think you're being.

It is very odd indeed.

Why the fuck would you, as the head of a company employing dozens if not hundreds of people, leave not only confidential information on an unprotected USB stick but also graphic porn. And then brag about it publicly.

Bragging about a USB stick of 18 year old girls doing porn is not evidence directly but it does make the probability of a USB stick with child porn more likely I would say.

So he had an .mpeg of an of-age camgirl?

Allegation made it sound like he had a trove of illegal underage videos and pictures and he ran a cabal of pedophiles. That's a pretty giant fuckin' leap.

So not proper CP, but still a 18 year old girl? Gross anyway.

Why would he share this in a podcast about magic anyways? lol

Saying "it was a magic trick" has to be the most funniest response against allegations of pedophilia
