Glad I kept my Black Friday copy in shrink wrap. This is the last straw; I already started the returning procedure on Amazon.
Game just came out on pc like a month ago as wellThe game wasn't even released 6 months ago, and they are 'shutting down' services for parts of the base game? Siiiick.
For PC users it's been a month and a halfishThe game wasn't even released 6 months ago, and they are 'shutting down' services for parts of the base game? Siiiick.
That is how it worked with ever expansion in D1.
That is why I said these that bought the base game at BF had few days to finish it or buy the expansion too.
Nobody has ever locked a Platinum/100% Achievements behind a paid DLC before. Is this really surprising? Aren't we supposed to expect these kinds of things from Activision/EA by now?
Well when it comes to GaaS scams Destiny has always been the leader there. Activision has really made Bungie do some terrible things.
Things that will no doubt have some people defending it no matter what.
That's like pointing at Battlefront 2 and saying "there's your MP shooters guys".LMAO freaking hell. There's your GAAS guys, developers and publishers can shit on its consumers whenever they feel like it.
What is wrong with fortnite? Genuinely curious btw.GaaS is generally bullshit. I agree. I say that as someone who supported Epic's bullshit (Fortnite) for months.
But Destiny is a special kind of bullshit. If you bought Destiny 1 post-The Taken King, you couldn't even play the original game as intended.

You know that's not what I mean. The Platinum trophy is now literally unobtainable for vanilla players, and that has never happened before.Technically any game with DLC actually does lock 100% behind DLC. If it adds new achievements/trophies you can't have 100% anymore can you?
You are technically right, but I think the point that was trying to be made is that players are locked out of vanilla achievements at this point unless they already have them.Technically any game with DLC actually does lock 100% behind DLC. If it adds new achievements/trophies you can't have 100% anymore can you?

Would this be a good reason to re-review Destiny 2 a laRocket League?
I said it earlier but simply adding the new difficulty with DLC items as a third option for the raid solves all of this. Old players get to keep playing their content and new players get awesome updates to the raid. But we know why they didnt choose to do that. This is a solution to a problem that the game has had that was not thought through. For longtime players it's awesome that the Raid and Prestige rewards are moving up with the expansion. It adds more viable content to the endgame and makes it so that the expansion content doesn't immediately render the vanilla content useless. However people with the base game should still be able to do the activities as they were before.
Same here. Emailed blizzard. No idea what to expect as I never did this with bliz before.
refund request rejewcted twice, even used achievement reasons. theyre getting slammed with calls and are deferring it to activision
At this rate, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Activision pulls the plug on this franchise, cancels the deal, and tells Bungie to pound salt. Things are getting worse with every release now.
That game isn't even on my radar. I don't even care to see any more of it knowing what we're in for. When they inevitably show footage during conferences or shows (whatever) it'll be the time for a bathroom break.Anthem is going to be an absolute trainwreck of bad decisions I can already feel it.
You think the site that just nominated Destiny 2 for game of the year will now lower their review?Would this be a good reason to re-review Destiny 2 a laRocket League?
