Some guys got banned just for saying she is hot, or that dude with dicaprio gif biting his fist.. get banned for that? Wtf? Lara was always designed to be sexy in some or all aspects of her look. Expressing it in same way the developer does should not be cause of ban. That's bait. Read the first page and tell me it's not filth. Folks are getting banned after the mod warning.
I'm sure you can say she looks pretty or she looks great. Just avoid childish comments like THICC and gifs that show sexual intent. Its weird, personally, unless the intent of Lara's model was to sexualize her. I'm sure comments like this would be okay in a Soul Caliber thread.
I like the extra bulk, makes her look like she can take (and dish out) the punishment that comes with her adventuring. Arms could be bigger but overall it's better than the previous models.I think she looks too wide and can be mistaken as fat rather than toned and muscular.
Posting gifs like the "extra thicc" one open pandora's box to people going into any threads with games about characters that look....good and spamming it.Trigger happy mods shooting bans left and right for saying Lara is sexy or posting gifs about the matter? That's a new low. I wonder what actual administrators can say about it?
Lara is SUPPOSED to be sexy. Not in a slutty way, but in a very feminine way. She looks great in all three post rebot games. She represents strong, independent and beatifull woman.
Am I the only one who thinks her new model doesn't look that impressive visually? Like compared to Rise, it seems like the model is a lot less detailed. All that climbing paid off:

Note this is from their gear guide for cosplayers and isn't exactly reflective of the graphics that'll be seen in the final game. Just the model posed with standard lighting. Also should clear up some misconceptions as some believed that her face had been redesigned again due to the CGI trailer.
MOD EDIT:
Remember it's a render with simple lighting placed in a PDF and uploaded to twitter. Not really representative of in-game visuals or model quality. Even in the official screenshots you can see details not present here.Am I the only one who thinks her new model doesn't look that impressive visually? Also that's a very weird pose.
Then I have to question the marketing team's move. Imo they should've at least released an actual render of the model (with a much better pose) before doing this since, correct me if I'm wrong, this is the first time we are actually seeing Lara's face/full model from Shadow.Remember it's a render with simple lighting placed in a PDF and uploaded to twitter. I agree. I said earlier in the thread that the marketing has been a bit messy, the first screenshots released were jpgs on twitter reuploaded from Amazon. There was some miscommunication as well since the Tribeca twitter account stated that they'd have live gameplay while he twitch channel said otherwise. And now our first good look at the in game model with the main design is from a cosplay guide. Just odd all around. Then I have to question the marketing team's move. I wouldn't worry about it, in Rise there were plenty of unlockable/craftable outfits.I dont have a problem with the new model, but that outfit... i don't like it one bit
Pretty sure it's intentional just like TLOU2 Ellie and that's not a bad thing.I think she looks too wide and can be mistaken as fat rather than toned and muscular.
She wasn't designed as a sexy character the same way as say a Doa or Soul Calibur character. Its just that some people seems to be 24/7 horny and cant keep themselves to stop acting immature with their "extra ticc" memes.Trigger happy mods shooting bans left and right for saying Lara is sexy or posting gifs about the matter? That wasn't Ellie in that trailer, it was a new character. But it could just be the pose that makes Lara appear just wider than muscled.Pretty sure it's intentional just like TLOU2 Ellie and that's not a bad thing.
That's a lot of assumptions you're making there. Also, remember the type of community you’re posting in. Unless the women in these games look like the pornstars they watch every day, they are going to be viewed as ‘ugly’.
This is the natural structure that a vast majority of women have. It’s a damn shame people are so desensitized to porn that they can’t appreciate a natural look anymore. Some folks need to leave their basement and get out and meet people to see what the ‘actual’ world looks like. Beauty comes in all forms.
I was talking about the reveal where she plays the guitar? That wasn't Ellie in that trailer, it was a new character. But it could just be the pose that makes Lara appear just wider than muscled.
How tall was Lara in the older games? On the one hand I'm happy they gave her more muscles and that the colours call back to the original outfit. On the other hand as noted by other posters the image they chose doesn't do the model any favor due to posture and lightning. Plus, I wish they made her taller like in the original games.
Really wish they would have a bit more fun with outfits. Pretty much all outfits in RotTR feel so grounded and dull, even the armor ones are just snooze worthy. Pretty much looks like the entire color palette for all the outfits where taken from a camo color palette or somethingThey don't shy away from unlockable outfits in the reboot games:

Ah i thought you were comparing Lara to that muscular girl in that TLOU2 trailer.

As you can read in this page Lara has been made progressively shorter since the games were taken away from the original developers, Core design. I find it really sad because imo it's just another facet of "you'll want to protect her" mentality by which the character has been redesigned.
Yeah, some scenes in Rise were pretty jarring due to the size difference...As you can read in this page Lara has been made progressively shorter since the games were taken away from the original developers, Core design. Originally she was 1.80 m. Now she is 1.68 :( Even sadder is that Rise has other female characters taller than her.
Is that confirmed to be a "you'll want to protect her" design decision or just a result of them going for a more natural and average physique in the first? As you can read in this page Lara has been made progressively shorter since the games were taken away from the original developers, Core design. I'd never realized that, that's very disappointing. I'd also completely forgotten about the 'you'll want to protect her' thing from the dev on the first game, super gross. As you can read in this page Lara has been made progressively shorter since the games were taken away from the original developers, Core design. This is also, asking to contact mods behind the scene just makes it feel like a coverup. How about making a dedicated topic about general (not specific!) moderation issues then?
Because just a hidden PM without even getting a reply isn't helpful and not transparent at all.
People complain when and where they see issues and unjust actions.
Because the moderation in this topic is looking exactly like the Red Dead Redemption II reveal on the former place. And that topic was an all time low...
And that is how derail and off topic is created. You can't expect people to not comment on it.
Just like i feel the need to do so now, knowing and willingly infringing the forum rules and an Admin / Mod post.
But that is the lesser evil than remain silent...
Requiring complaints/criticism to be done one on one with a moderator via private message versus in a public forum basically makes the complaint criticism go away/ineffectual.
Top middle is the one I used the most. Leather jackets are fucking awesome. At least I think that's leather. They don't shy away from unlockable outfits in the reboot games:

No, it's just my take (notice I use "imo" in my post). By still, it's a design choice that undermines the character. I mean, how fans would react if, in order to "humanize" Wonder Woman, or Samus Aran, they were made shorter? At the very least I find that to be patronizing. Is that confirmed to be a "you'll want to protect her" design decision or just a result of them going for a more natural and average physique in the first?
This is like calling Kratos's new design a redesign. It's still the same character at a later stage in their life. You know you are onto something when you keep redesigning your character, sometimes even within release of the same game.
