Edit 5: "Those two things (the blacklisting and Sony's denial) are completely different. The statement is very official, it's Sony's stance. The blacklisting is just Sony France's PR department getting fed up with my articles (they already blacklisted me in the past for an article on PS VR, for instance)": https://twitter.com/Willvs/status/953322730576842752

Edit 4: "- So your sources abandoned you? - Nope. I guess someone changed his mind after GI covered it." https://twitter.com/Willvs/status/953012935600852993

Edit 3: William Audureau tweeted: "Sony France's PR representative just texted me. It's "super false" that I'm blacklisted, he affirmed". https://twitter.com/willvs/status/952985179739574272

Edit 2: Audureau said got the news from internal sources at Sony: https://twitter.com/Willvs/status/952986137202749440

Edit: I previously said Sony blacklisted Gamekult for giving Beyond: Two Souls a 6/10. That was a mistake on my part, it was actually Heavy Rain (Source: https://beta.arretsurimages.net/articles/sony-fait-pression-sur-un-site-dedie-aux-jeux-video)

William Audureau (journalist for Le Monde) just tweeted this:

Context: https://kotaku.com/david-cages-quantic-dreams-accused-of-being-a-toxic-wor-1822068440

Reminds me of when Sony blacklisted Gamekult when they gave Heavy Rain a 6/10 score: http://n4g.com/news/470886/gamekult-co-founder-responds-to-sony-blacklist

Mod Edit: For further clarification. Keep in mind, Le Monde is a reputable newspaper.

"(I've been blacklisted) according to sources close to the case , as we'd say politely" .

If your sole purpose posting in this thread is to trying to discredit a reputable journalist from one of the biggest and most respected newspapers in the world for not exposing his sources, or checking any other item on your list of things someone has to have achieved in order to make you believe them, you'll get warned.

A lot of this seems to stem from an urge to defend a preferred company and ignoring the article and the writer's comments. If this continues, we'll have to enforce harsher methods to keep this thread on its tracks. Thanks and please continue to discuss!

From here on out, any posts attempting to discredit Le Monde or William Audureau will result in a ban. Please bear this in mind, thank you.

how does one know they are blacklisted? Do companies actually send out an email saying "you've just made THE LIST!" or something to that effect?

Copy / Pasting from the other thread, SONY France gave a statement to French website Gameblog[EDIT: Regarding Quantic Dream, not Le Monde's blacklisting]:

As an independent development studio, Quantic Dream is responsible for their social and wage policies. More generally, we expect our suppliers and partners to comply with the laws and practices in force in their country. We have no other comment.

Still, have the journalist showed proof that he has being blacklisted?

Wonder if both the ND and QD scandals were just lies or if they're just trying to hide them by denying them.
Probably not a good move if true

Sony needs to stop handling situations like this, weathering the storm then moving on isn't good. Coming out and addressing it head on is the better move here, at least make a response about the relationship between you and Quantic.

Yeah that's what I'm wondering too. Especially with no current Sony releases that they would be requesting for review.

How does he know he was blacklisted?

Seems like this would be a worse PR move from Sony than the original story.

It really would be.

Well, time to stop supporting Sony Interactive Entertainment products. I was hopeful that they would bring attention to the issues. Instead, they decide to blacklisted the guy who ran the story. It tells you everything you need to know about their priorities.

People sure are chomping at the bit to get riled up over this shit, aren't they. How does he know he's "blacklisted"? Maybe they just don't want to talk to the person accusing one of their subsidiaries until further investigations have been made, I don't know.

Being blacklisted by a company in the video game industry means that you don't receive PR releases, review copies of games/consoles, you're not invited anymore to press-related events, that kind of stuff.

What most likely happened is that they were asked/threatened to remove their article, refused and are now in that situation.
