I was never a NES player so a SNES would push more of my buttons... but that is really tempting as a gaming + Lego nerd

Kinda want, but heck freaking no at that price. That's probably around half of an actual next-gen console.

Wow! Expecting $200-300. A must buy for me.

When are they going to get into Zelda? There's been like six projects on ideas that have reached the required number of support, even if looking back most of them weren't particularly viable projects (needs new pieces, no clear set idea, etc . . .)

Obviously licensing isn't the issue nowadays. (IMO it never was as Lego Ideas takes projects with known licensing issues down).

I've been plugging away at mine and I'm really trying to make it something they might actually produce. I've done some extensive Minifigure work on Zelda and Ganondorf and I'm hoping to have them printed soon

The Legend of Zelda

The Legend of Zelda series first debuted over thirty-five years ago on the Nintendo Entertainment System. Since then it has cemented itself as one of ...

The BOTW stable was probably the best chance yet, but even that was iffy because it just doesn't seem like a particularly compelling scene from the games. Hyrule Castle is in review right now, so maybe we will have luck with that, but it's also massive so that could be a roadblock.

IMO Nintendo should become a Lego staple theme, like Star Wars and City are. They can just rotate through franchises to mix things up. Both brands are such a good fit for each other.

Oh my that looks amazing.

And I hope Lego don't just stop at Nintendo with this. Imagine owning a whole Lego collection of classic consoles (that are the same bloody price as a brand new console :O)

I was expecting a functional console that was with a shell made out of Lego bricks. This is weird.

Am I crazy or is some of the art on the box suggesting that the image on the TV actually moves ?

looks like the screen scrolls, yes. There is enough space behind the TV controls for a wider screen. I don't know if they're crazy enough to have it on some kind of roller for infinite scrolling

also looks like Mario can move but that seems more like he's sliding around on a stick

That looks really awesome. Gives me heavy nostalgia since I played my NES on a dial TV way back when.

The box seems to imply that the lever controls both Mario and the parallax scrolling, perhaps a band/belt that wraps around the backside of the TV with the scenery on top?

Wow, that is some huge news. Seeing the rumour on stonewars.de is a definite confirmation in my experience. Definitely getting this.

I just hope it's not limited and a pain to find later. I'd love it but cant justify that price tag till I have a job again.
