James' SpringHill Entertainment and Vertigo Entertainment are in talks to produce a reboot of the classic Friday the 13th, THR has confirmed.

Although the popularity and success of the Halloween sequel could be a factor for the interest in the Jason franchise, legal issues are partially at play. Last month, original screenwriter for Friday the 13th, Victor Miller, won a legal battle for the rights of the franchise.
