The anime fandom is known to be full of nazis, so lets post here animes that have a leftist PoV/message to break this image and to serve as a recomendation to anyone that doesnt want to watch animes that normalize slavery or opression.

Here's 2(3) popular animes:

Fullmetal alchemist
images

Why? Both the old and New series have a very direct and open message against fascism, where one of the good guys wants to democratize the country, there's even a movie that Hitler appears and he's arrested.
The anime also criticizes imperialism, racism, workers exploitation.

One Piece
images

Why? The anime shows the exploitation of poor and opressed people, slavery, tyrany etc... And the heroes fights against that.

Since when is the consensus that anime fans consist of Nazis mostly? Because so many assholes have anime avatars?

Arjuna has a wholesome environmental message, very relevant to our current era with global warming.

Not a good look considering what's going on right now with some of the things going on. But I agree with you as far as the actual writing goes.

I hate how we just label things leftist now for being like, fairly normal. Remember when the leftist YouTube thread was all about Destiny

If fighting oppression and slavery is all that is needed for an anime to be leftist than most anime are leftist. Also the anime-nazi thing seems like hyperbole.

Sakigake! Otokojuku started off as a criticism against Imperial Japan and its view of masculinity; it was originally a comedy about a high school where a bunch of meathead manly men students are taught to fight and die for their country. Students are told to commit seppuku for singing Michael Jackson songs because it's "the music of the enemy", and there's one chapter which is instigated because one of the teachers is an ugly motherfucker who is terrible with women and insecure about his own ethnicity so he tells the student to go clear the nightclubs of foreigners.

Then it turned into a standard action anime and all of that machoismo stuff stopped being ironic, which was lame.

Idol Jihen (Idol Incidents) cos it's about a liberal party filled with idols fighting against the current conservative party in power filled with old men.

Uh there's TONS of anime with various degrees of social commentary which usually means some form of critique on Japan's conservatism.

Like even the ridiculous anime that are all about mandating someone to procreate are criticisms of Japan's declining birth rate and the reasons thereof.

I haven't seen it, but apparently Blue Comet SPT Layzer was a little more explicitly about the failings of Imperial Japan than Gundam was - specifically, the villains resembling Japan during their occupation of Korea - to the point that ended up upsetting conservatives and giving the show a short run (it was finished through later releases).

I'd say One Piece has more libertarianism values fighting against authoritarianism at its core. Luffy's a pirate and he's pretty tolerable towards more pirate-like people. The Revolutionary Army is more aligned as left-leaning but there's a lack of details on what exactly they're fighting for beyond overthrowing the ruling aristocracy

Literally all of Miyazaki

The guy literally boycotted the Oscars in 2003 after Sprited Away won best animated feature due to the recent invasion of Iraq.

You might want to look at Road To Shambala again there. OP.

With it's bullshit whataboutism about literal Nazis.

Wano has been pretty anti-isolationsim and anti-xenophobia. Latest chapter even had Luffy outright say "So what if I'm from another place? Why can't an outsider help protect your country?"

SInce when do you need to be a leftist to be against fascism? There are tons of people on the right that hate fascists.

With the American Right diving further and further right, demonizing Antifa, and basically saying anyone that doesn't agree with you about Trump 100% is a leftist. Even people on the right are called leftists (there's a BBC interview with Ben Shapiro where he talks to noted conservative Andrew Neil, and Shapiro calls him a leftist when Neil points out the holes in his points).
EDIT: Just realized this might be a troll account. Shit.

Yuru Camp is a conservative anime.

It's about taking care of yourself in an unforgiving world by pulling up your bootstraps.

34 people died in a horrible fire, anime fans united to collect money and send well wishes.

The timing of this topic is not good

It's not a troll account, just the premise that you have to be left-wing to be against fascism was infuriating enough to make me post for the first time.

And what you've said may be true, but it doesn't negate the fact that many right-wingers are heavily against fascism.

I know a lot of righties on line idolize shaprio and the like, but all of his views are not nessisarily shared of all right wing thinkers.
