Things like this I don't think it's so much that they "fall for it" they want it to be true, they lie to themselves so much that they believe it to be true. It's an example of how they rationalise the world. Because if they admit shit like this isn't true they have to accept that their views are purely based on bigotry and hate.

They need the "sjws are extremists, irrational and hyper sensitive" shit because without it they aren't even the good guys in their head.

Piker? What happened?
On a stream he said America deserved 9/11.

He was talking about how Americas actions inevitably have consequences and so them arming SA which in turn spreads terrorism and us weapons.

He of course didn't mean the us people who died deserved it but more of a "what the fuck you expect to happen?!" way.

He ended the stream early when he realised how bad it sounded, deleted the stream and did a section on tyt with cenk talking about it and cenk said it offended him too.

New thoughtslime on the liberal mindset and their typical arguments.

Pretty much explains why I never even bother wasting my time trying to convince hardened liberals anymore. Makes me more angry than talking with right wingers, atleast they admit they support horrible shit most of the time. Liberals pretend they don't, even though they support and strengthen every structure that causes horrible shit to happen.

What people call "liberals" in the US (and the way they're depicted in ThoughtSlime's video) is closest to my vision of what actual centrists (keep in mind: I used to be a centrist) would be like: people who are not actually that interested in politics, don't want to think to hard about it, and certainly not hard enough to really see the flaws in the system. They're just pro-status quo for lack of an actual political commitment. Depending on how empathetic/socially-conscious they are, they might be a bit more conservative or a bit more progressive on the social front, but they're never really interested in moving the needle too far in either direction. Which wouldn't be too terrible if the idea of a "political status quo" existed. But, as we've seen quite clearly these past few years, a political status quo in our late stage capitalistic system pretty much means that the right will move the Overton window and that the Earth is going to shit so er... It's, like, a necessity to be actively left-leaning at this point.

I say "they" when talking about centrists and liberals, but if I'm honest this still describes me to an extent. Being a cishet white dude, and not super empathetic in general, I find it hard to break out of this liberal/centrist/pseudo-apolitical mindset, but leftist youtube has made me more politically-conscious. I try to appeal to my sense of morality and my desire for people to, quite simply, not be dicks to each other, but I still have a long road ahead of me.

Hassan can get a little too carried away in his word choices too often. I understand what he's saying, but he uses an iron flail, when a butter knife would suffice. I mean that it wouldn't take too much effort to avoid being obscenely inflammatory. Which is a shame, but there he goes...

This is a great video on "politics" in media, from the angle of the new Rocko's special.

Also, just for completion, the new CON-TRAP-OINTS.

She makes a lot of interesting and nice points. However, there's a huge subset of women who also feel absolutely invisible and like they don't even exist. When women don't fully adhere to the narrow standards of beauty this society imposes on us, our "worth" absolutely plummets as a result. Natalie is beautiful, young, thin, and all that plays in favor of her being desirable, which of course makes her own experience of being a women, a pleasant one where people are nicer to her, kinder, and want to do things for her. But for the women who didn't win the beauty lottery, this is another thing entirely.

I grew up fat and was absolutely ignored and invisible to the overwhelming majority of people I met. I saw my "worth" rise up when at some point I managed to lose all of my weight, and experiencing first-hand the difference of treatment before and after has put me in an anger I still need to deal with at times. Suddenly I was visible, but only because of something as ridiculously trite and shallow as my weight. My personality didn't change, my interests and passions neither, the core person of who I was never ever changed, just my weight. This is a bitter pill that I had a hard time swallowing. Nowadays I took some weight back and I'm partly invisible again, but after such experience, I'm not sure I wanna be visible anymore anyway, at least I don't have to deal with the bullshit of wondering if people like me for me, or because I look bangable enough.

Anyway, point is, women are very far from having the same experiences of, well, being a woman as Natalie's. Beauty and desirability ultimately make up a lot of what kind of shit we'll have to deal with in life, in sadly extremely important ways. Least we forget, the Incel word was actually created by a woman for those reasons precisely.

Saw this video on twitter and decided to check it out since I was interested in the game. It's a bit spoilery for the game, but its a 1 hour game so probably hard not to spoil in 30 minutes.

Watched this the other day, really fantastic and entertaining. Good job on educating liberalism being different from leftism.

I recently discovered this new channel. By recent I mean just now. I saw his video on anime fan service and now watching his love of LeftTube.

This video is him reflecting on himself and lefttube as he calls it.

His sense of humor is a little weird, but really listen and watch the whole thing. He admits he didn't used to be the best person.

ThoughtSlime is pretty much singlehandedly responsible for me going from "man, anarchists are so dumb" to "hey, wait a minute, this makes a lot sense". It helps that, as he said in one of his videos, he used to have the stereotypical vision of anarchists are dumb young people who just wanna do whatever the fuck they want, but was 'converted' in his thirties. I could definitely relate to that.

My political views are still very nebulous and fuzzy, so I wouldn't call myself an anarchist or a communist or anything like that just yet, but guys like TS have opened my mind to the whole spectrum of leftist ideas.

That's the great thing about this growing movement of leftist YouTubers, they get ideas and critiques out there to people that would never consider themselves anarchists, democratic socialists or whatever.

It's not gonna lead to an army of socialists tomorrow but it might help slowly tip politics in a better direction.

While I don't identify as a socialist, I do find the ability to analyze and critique systemic issues is much clearer from the further left perspective that overlaps with them. I think it's important to be able to think outside the bounds of a capitalist cultivated perspective. I liken it to the time I left religion and how that toppled a lot of thought barriers - not to get all "euphoric" lol

I think the last time I even thought of Frank Grimes and that episode is that I would have sympathized with him and saw his view

Damn time flies

Unless I remember the Renegade Cut analysis wrong, the point is not that Grimes shouldn't be sympathized with. After all, he does work his ass off with few results and little recognition, while Homer is successful despite being careless and reckless. The point is that the system is completely unfair, and produces people like him who become workaholics, end up judging people by how much work they put in, become resentful, and ultimately get chewed out by the very system that encouraged them to work hard in the first place, while the powers that be exploit their work and walk out scot-free.

I still think Grimes is, to an extent, supposed to be empathized with... As is everyone else whose perspective is warped by a perverted system that ultimately benefits a scant few exploitative assholes no matter what you do.

It's ironic when, as RC said, the writer for that episode is decidedly right-wing. He gets so close to identifying the fundamental problems of the system, but ultimately misses the big picture.

It's funny because I thought the primary point of that episode was that it's supposed to be about a realistic person meeting a sitcom character. I hadn't considered anything else.

Cenk Uygur just said some of the stupidest things I ever heard come out of someone's mouth. 🤦‍♂️

"Brown face is not a thing"
"There's not a well known history of brown face in America"

Sigh...

Overall I actually like cenk but saw this earlier and instantly thought 'what the fuck are you talking about?!'

There was his other recent comment about how he only now realised how bad sexism is because of polling numbers and I was thinking to myself 'but I have seen you talk at length about how bad sexism is and you work with tonnes of women who go into detail about this?!'
