As someone who literally just unfroze some bacteria that have been frozen at -80*C for six years, I can confirm that all freezing does is make your bacteria last longer.
Sounds like science. As someone who literally just unfroze some bacteria that have been frozen at -80*C for six years, I can confirm that all freezing does is make your bacteria last longer.
Glad this confirms I’m not crazy. It was Levi themselves that promoted this! Weird to then call something they originally promoted (as a way to reduce the water consumption of cotton) an old wives tale.
What was pretty about the bacteria? Other than they immediately latched onto your jeans for dear life?
There's some pink bacteria that can be quite pretty! (before it kills you, it's also highly toxic)What was pretty about the bacteria? Other than they immediately latched onto your jeans for dear life?
Yeah but that's cause you stored them down in roughly 25% glycerol. Throw bacteria in water and freeze-thaw them a hundred times and I bet you'll get some dead bacteria. As someone who literally just unfroze some bacteria that have been frozen at -80*C for six years, I can confirm that all freezing does is make your bacteria last longer.
This is about what I do, just do a quick smell check before putting em back on.Well at least the CEO of Levi’s has made me feel better about my secret of only washing my jeans like once every month or so.
Exactly. Maybe you wear them and walk into the ocean with them on, but you don’t wash themHave you people never heard of raw denim jeans? You don't wash that shit.
or have and won't buy clothes that they aren't supposed to wash.
What are you even getting out of doing this.Lots of folks who've never heard of raw denim itt
I've owned about 4 jeans in the last 10 years. Couple pairs of Nudies and Naked and Famous. Always wait at least 6 months before the first wash.
I hate the way jizz stains smell. Not washing your jeans is disgusting. People probably reek of butt sweat and jizz stains.
... You don't need to wash them. The only time i wash mine is if I suspect I got poison oak or ivy on them.I mean it is not a proper way of washing your jeans but maybe don't take advice from the dude that hasn't washed his jeans in 10 years either?
Sure, but that's not what people are doing when they freeze jeans either. I mean, if you're gonna dunk your jeans in water a hundred times, you've basically just washed them at that point.Yeah but that's cause you stored them down in roughly 25% glycerol. Throw bacteria in water and freeze-thaw them a hundred times and I bet you'll get some dead bacteria.
.....Yes well people usually have clothes for different occasions, I.e. jeans only for office and jeans for outdoors.
Do you wear leather suit shoes on a hike?
I have pants I only wear to work and yeah I don't really wash them that much because.. they don't really go anywhere.
EwI have pants I only wear to work and yeah I don't really wash them that much because.. they don't really go anywhere.
Ewwwww….Why....you seriously need to wash your damn clothes. Throughout the day as you are wearing them you have dead skin particles, dirt/grime from wearing them outside and other things you come in contact with that are getting on them.
I could not dare dream of wearing pants for TEN YEARS without ever washing them, ugh.
I mean people sit on public seats with jeans...
