Yeah, it's hard to just excise YouTube from my media diet because it basically is the medium of hosted video. Gmail's been my primary address for a lot of stuff, professional and otherwise so I can't just gut it, though I like the idea of not giving them my YT metrics. It is encouraging me to use something other than Chrome, though. Firefox is still free and now that I've freed myself from Chrome Password Manager I can probably jump ship just about anywhere.

I confess that you're talking way over my head on philosophy though, as someone with a... significantly less than 101 understanding. It's a subject I've wanted to educate myself in a little, but I'm an idiot, so I might have to watch more video than actually read.
It's daunting to shuffle everything around, Alphabet is thoroughly entrenched in so many things. Like I recently used a google docs for something, and these are just things you forget about. It's unfortunate because we know that by and large these corporations are literally never going to police themselves, which I guess makes the desperate moonshot option being either that the people seize them, or the government does and also enshrines progressive humanist values somehow, and neither seems to be happening any time soon.

Sorry, I just meant that by the standards of philosophy I'm more a fuzzy-minded impressionist type that often pursues theory for its own sake, which presents sort of a contrast with the more material problems of Marxism, or the more practical problems of history, socialist policy, etc. I thought it was funny to think that my departure from my normal interests is some kind of ill omen. Probably because it might very well be, with how things are going, lol.

Good secondary sources (including videos) are the best. I learned much more from lectures, over all, than I did from my primary textbooks for undergrad. Honestly, a lot of philosophers aren't very good writers, and any time you sit down to read something pretty difficult or removed from you, in its original language, or original translation, you really have to ask how hard you want to come to grips with it, and a lot of the time the honest answer is that I'm not that motivated., lol.

If you're looking for recommendations, Hegel is arguably the most influential philosopher from the modern period and was incredibly influential in cultural critique and historical interpretation or hermeneutics, generally. And from there you could probably leap ahead quite a bit to Heidegger, who again has been really formative in characterizing what we might now recognize as modernity, particularly in how we relate our personal means and ends to a lifeworld (a world that we are ostensibly born into), including making a really strong modern update on existentialism (Sartre's existentialism followed directly on his heels). Though I come more from the tradition of historical philosophy (which is typically 'German'), so take my suggestions as being extremely biased.

Haven't felt that great lately. I feel like an impostor within the community since I'm relatively new, bi, and don't really partake in things. I feel shunned by both straight people and people within the community because I like both sexes (and it's assumed I'd be unfaithful), and I feel I'm always judged. My body image is poor recently, and I feel I'll never find a real romantic relationship--or I worry I'll jump into one because I don't think I'll be able to do any better than the next person who shows a slight interest in me. But then they just want sex, and I'm not ready for that yet. I associate sex with an emotional connection--not just a quick bout of pleasure. It's not something I just do with someone I first meet. That part makes me feel weird and uncomfortable, I guess.

Just rambling. Sorry. Not feeling cute, will probably delete. :/

Any body type, there's plenty of people attracted to it, and to the rest of a person as well. And while biphobia remains an issue, I think it's getting a lot better. And it's important to keep to what you're comfortable with, and anyone worthwhile will respect that.

Created a PLanetRomeo account two weeks ago. It's so much fun.
But there are so many crazies out there.
I think the craziest request came from one guy: he wanted me to cum in a condom and send the used condom to him. He gave me his name and address.
He even wanted me to give money for it.

How about no?

But I missed the app. Hadn't used it for two years. Some really nice and intersting people there. And it's less anonymous than Grindr.

It's VERY active.
I'm taken, but I like to find people for networking or working out.
There are many decent people on there.
Sure, around 95% of the people writing to me are looking for sex. But that's easy to ignore.

Happy pride month, everyone! I haven’t posted here, so hello! 👋

I came out to my sister yesterday. We’re not the closest, since we haven't known each other for too long - long story, but basically:

But she’s the one person in my family I knew would be supportive - and she was! It was the longest conversation we've ever had and I think we'll become closer after this. There are varying levels of homophobia in the rest of my family, unfortunately. Even though it's just one person, it did feel really great to say it to someone. Anyway, here’s me:

  • Your gender? Your sexual identity? (Preferred pronouns?) Cis Male
  • Your sexual orientation? Gay
  • Where Do You Live? North Carolina
  • How Old Are you? 25
  • Favorite Type of Music? Indie/Folk Pop
  • Favorite video game(s)? Animal Crossing
  • What are your hobbies (other than gaming)? Drawing

Hi! Welcome.

It's such a relief to come out to family. I still haven't told anyone. But not everyone needs to know...

Happy pride month! So I've 'finally' figured out that I'm asexual and, wow, it is a weight off my shoulders. I think I've introduced myself here before but might as well do it again now that I've gone through so much self-discovery:
  • Your gender? Your sexual identity? (Preferred pronouns?) Cis/Questioning Male
  • Your sexual orientation? Asexual
  • Where Do You Live? The arse-end of Britain
  • How Old Are you? 21
  • Favorite Type of Music? I may have discovered myself but I can't answer this question yet :P
  • Profession or Career interest? Any job'll do
  • Favorite video game(s)? Too many to count
  • What are your hobbies (other than gaming)? Hiking/walking, films, writing
I think I'm going to be coming out to my Mum soon (when we next see each other irl) so, yeah, that's a thing :P

I'm single as of today as well. We were together for three years.
I'm not even that sad. Feels more like a relief. I think I took the right decision.

This weekend will be all about MYSELF.

That’s the spirit! I’m glad you’re feeling ok about the whole situation.
What happened if you don’t mind me asking?
Last year he confessed that he cheated on me during the first three months of our relationship. He wanted to confess because it was making him crazy and he felt guilty.

That's when the cracks started to show. I lost all trust. He even brought me to Mauritius to meet his family, in a way of showing me that he was being serious with me. There I met his sister, and she told me many things about the men in that family. I told her what happpend between me and my ex, her brother. She really liked me and we became close. She told me that all the men in the family are serial cheaters. Even the father. She hated her father. And she warned me about my ex as well. Her own brother...

So taking me to Mauritius kinda worked against him. But I still tried to give him the benefit of the doubt. But I just couldn't handle it anymore.

My ex travels a lot. He confessed to me that he cheated on me during a business travel. So everytime he went on a travel I got anxious. We decided since the beginning that we didn't want an open relationship because we don't believe in it. But he's a charmer and always flirts with men. And when he sees a man is interested, he will continue talking to him. I mean, I get attention as well. But I'm very reserved and loyal. He's the total opposite of me.

SO I didn't want to live a life of constantly thinking what he's doing during his trips. I told him I can't do it anymore and cut him off. He still doesn't accept it. But it's my life. And it feels good to not feel the anxiety anymore. I'm sure he will want to meet up again after he comes back from his travels, but I told him I don't want to see him again. I was very harsh as well. I went to his house, grabbed all of my stuff and left his stuff I had at home there. I left his keys inside the house and closed the door.

He'll be ok. He's a wealthy man with a very good job. I told him to focus on his job. I'll be happy on my own and I am independent. I will be OK, too.

Hey all, strange question, but people keep giving me this website to fill out: https://icplid.com/. Is it legit? It doesn't look like it.

(On tinder and Grindr. I'm on mobile so I couldn't find a better place. Let me know and I can move this post)
