I know the marriage wouldn't be recognized here, but maybe someday.
There would be paperwork and stuff and permissions that hopefully can be handled through post and there wouldn't be a need for a lengthy stay at the country to get it all processed.

Yes, the USA.
Every city and county will have different rules, so Google "marriage license <city>" for more information.
In Las Vegas, for example, all you need is your ID (or passport) and $60 for a marriage license. Then you can get married with no waiting period.
I just finished making a scrapbook for the loml, and there's something really disheartening about seeing how happy he was in the summer. I feel like he's far more miserable now, and I can't help but blame myself. :( It almost makes me want to let him go, so he can get back to whatever it was that made him so happy 6 months ago.

Don't sweat it too much, I turned 33 a little over a month ago, and started dating again last year after many (many) years of not doing so. You are gonna stumble, it's gonna hurt, but you are going to learn and grow from it, and it's worth it in the end.
