Not only does it look like a bottle, but it specifically has a single-screen 2D section at the top of the map to cork the whole thing off. OP I think you cray.

It's named after the boss' bottle.

"NYAH NYAH! You can't hurt me as long as I have my bottle!"

You could also argue the dungeon vaguely looks like a head of lettuce.

So why not "Pot Head" to allude to both things it looks like?

We're done here.

Jar or pot つぼ 壺 or 壷 has kanji that looks like a jar.
Jar Cave, D'urngeon or King Potto's Grotto (haven't played the game so I don't know about the boss) would work well

Clearly, this is the sound of being trapped inside a bottle not a jar or vase:

You can still call for help from a jar or vase. A bottle is sealed tight and the anxiety of being trapped indefinitely is perfectly encapsulated by this track

Huh, I never noticed that was why the dungeon had an otherwise almost pointless side on section (up the two sets of upwards stairs) across the neck of the bottle. Cool.

What a game, perfection.

Minako Hamano went on to be a Metroid mainstay.
