So I noticed 8chan had a twitter feed and noticed Lorne Lanning out of the hundreds I follow in the industry was the only one following them. Obviously following them doesn't mean you like them as a lot of people follow certain people and don't like them.

But then I had a look at his likes. He was liking tweets from James Wood, Colin Molitary, supporting gun rights. Tweets that were attacking Hilary, Ilhan Omar and Bernie. Fair enough he probably doesn't like them or maybe he doesn't like politicians. But then I didn't see him liking tweets of anything negative said about Trump.

IIRC it was rumored this was one of the reasons they stopped having him at E3.

I didn't exactly follow him much but he was always incredibly entertaining when he appeared on Giant Bomb's E3 shows. I don't think he showed up this year, wonder if this is why.

I had no idea, and I'm really fucking disappointed. I've gushed about Oddworld here in the past. It was my first Playstation game. I was so excited for it, I bought a copy before I even had a console to play it on.

Given the themes of the series, I think this means I'm done with Oddworld. It's all a fraud.

I was just thinking the other day about how the single most recurrent theme in Orson Scott Card's works is a full repudiation of the opinions that he spouts off. Some are about as explicit as you can get about it without saying "THIS BOOK IS ABOUT HOW HATING GAY PEOPLE IS WRONG"

Yeah that's the confusing thing about it. The first Oddworld, which I have the most exposure to out of the series, seems extremely anti-consumerism/capitalist in message. Is it a case of turning shitty with age?

There is no way. The content of the games he has made is so critical of capitalism, consumerism and corporations that I refuse to believe this unless more evidence comes out.

It would be devastating if true as he's been one of the creators ive most wanted to meet and potentially work with for nigh in decades and this would shatter that aspiration entirely.
