About this game and version:

This game is an unofficial demake originaly made by a chinese company to the NES. A fan translated the game, but the game isn't good, it's slow and the graphics are from a middle ages Final Fantasy, but you still are in modern times. Also Barrett is white in this og demake version, the sprites are weird, the battle is not fun its very slow. Then a fan edited/hacked the game in 2013 with the original FF7 music, sprites, black Barrett, better battle stats, script, even ilustrations to cutscenes, its a much more enjoyable experience, and now its a fun and a good game to play.

I wanted to play FF7 and i remembered this version, so i decided to try. I started playing the original chinese version, I didn't knew about this restored version. So I started again and this version is much better and i'm really enjoying it, i'm at the beginning of reactor 5. Anyone played or finished this version?

Why the NES? The game's earliest development was as an SNES game so if anything that would be the logical console to demake for.

I actually completed Final Fantasy VII for the first time today, though it was the PS4 version.

I remember trying this recently and the battles were overly long. Is that better now? Also, I am sure they chose "NES style" because it is cheaper.

The amount of effort that went into restoring this from the original Chinese version is really staggering, honestly. It's almost a ground-up redo.

Now i'm at the sewers, i must say that i'm very impressed with this game, there's some few things out, but so far its faithful with some few adaptations. The city part is usualy the less impresive part but the interiors is very impressive. Lets see how they will adapt the rest.

I think to own the real thing is Fine, since Its an unoficial a game, the cartridge money wont Go to square and to actualy sell for profit would probably be ilegal, so to download would be the best i think.

I always found this bootleg fascinating but did not know that fans actually put effort into making it into a playable game.

I am guessing it doesn't work on original hardware so cant play it on the Analogue Mini NT.

I played this couple years ago, if anyone curious how full the game is...
It basically follows the story fully up until start of Disc 2. You reach North Crater, Cloud gives some speech IIRC and then you fight Safer Sephiroth. So the Huge Materia quests are omitted.

2 spoiler tags this time and some tips to who will play this game
1- This game uses a lot of hidden passageways so you can progress some dungeons
2- When you get tiny bronco you still have random fights, and some are very hard, so save often and if you want to level up go to midgar area the monsters there will give almost the same XP than the harder region ones.
3- There's two healing points in the beginning in midgar, where you can lvl up easily use it there.
4- This game doesn't have a world map so use this one:

So the ending:
2 last tips for who will play this game:
1- The last dungeon (gaea cliff) is very hard sometimes, depending of the group of enemies you face, take with you lots of potions and bomb smokes to flee the hard fights, also save after each fight.
2- To obtain the best weapons of the game you must have all the weapons of that character. Then there's two ways of getting the weapon 1 - random fights, the monster have a small probability to drop weapons for the party that's fighting. 2- battle arena, idk of the probability of the battle arena if its higher,i haven't figured out, i readed this on internet, but it takes a long time and i obtained 10.000 gil the time i won. I managed to obtain by loot the last weapons of Tifa, Barret, Cid.

Time to kick sephiroth ass

Well i would recommend this NES version to any FF7 fan, its not the best version to a new comer, but for a fan its no doubt a fun and enjoyable game that you must play.

Pretty sure this isn't allowed to be sold cause Square owns the ip and isn't involved. Emulating should be perfectly legal
