Disagree with nearly every point, and most of all about feeling no more empowered then when you started. By the end of the game I felt like a god and could easily take down big robots with ease even on hard.
That's because you can...Disagree with nearly every point, and most of all about feeling no more empowered then when you started. By the end of the game I felt like a god and could easily take down big robots with ease even on hard.
There is absolutely no way they are on par in terms of enemy variety or combat. At least not in my opinion. Maybe we are not even talking about the same game lolI'm with you OP. I liked the main story and some of the characters (really the only reason I stayed with it lol), but even then I feel the game cut waaaay too short and it ended at a midpoint rather than an end. All the side quests I did felt like total filler and honestly the combat isn't actually that good. At the end of the day, all you really need is to get a Ropecaster w/ some good damage enhancements and a sharpshot bow with tear enhancements and you're basically golden. Anything else is optional. I think it's a pretty decent game but in the year it came out in well..... It's got tough competition.
Being an asshole doesn't make you memorable, he doesn't even have that unique a design. He just looks like a generic brute enemy you'd find in this kind of game. I didn't even realize that he was supposed to be a main villain until like halfway through the story.
Mmmmmmmm I think they're about on-par with one another honestly and that other game doesn't lock obvious and essential skills behind a level up tree.
That's not true for you but it's a valid truth for how I feel. Not only did I acknowledge that I see why people enjoy this game despite not liking a lot about it myself, but I'm having my opinion invalidated because they don't conform with some of yours. Lol
Best part of the game for me. You aren't even dealing that much more damage but you learn to exploit weak points, attack patterns and elemental weaknesses.
Nothing more satisfying than coming back and slaying a Stormbird like a master, after all that earlier training paid off.
Sorry, I was only talking combat, I agree that BotW's enemy variety was extremely lacking (one of my biggest cons against the game)There is absolutely no way they are on par in terms of enemy variety or combat. At least not in my opinion. Maybe we are not even talking about the same game lol
Pretty much my mood. If it's not outclassed by BotW in an area, it's outclassed by NieR Automata. I don't think Horizon is a bad game, it's just really lacking when you consider what was releasing around then. Even though I only recently played it, it just kinda make me miss playing those two games more.I hadn't been pumped for a triple a game like this in forever. I was really disappointed. If the poor game had not come out in between Zelda and nier, I think I could have at least got into it. But it's been a real struggle to get through it.
It's one of those games that all-around is almost really good. The story and cutscenes are just a little flat. The combat and gameplay are a little messy. It's falls just short all around for me.
Played around 8-10 hours of it then dropped it when Zelda came out and haven't been back since.
On paper they improve but it feels no better to play than when she starts. Yes dismantling may come easier and you may be able to notch up to three hours with one of the skills, that much is true. But I articulated that despite all these skills and weapon modifications, they all feel insignificant and leave me feeling no stronger than when I started, even if I am technically stronger by the end.
Fireclaws are so damn intimidating at first...Yep by the end of the game I got so cocky that I was running up on anything with just skill.
Only got humbled when Frozen Wilds came out. Had to switch up a bit for those Fire/Frostclaws and Scorchers. lol
Fireclaws are so damn intimidating at first...
Scorchers I got into a routine quick with. Even Fireclaws are easy to deal with if you stay just outside of range. Lol. Snipe until at least one tank go splodey.
Now that's one thing I hated about endgame. Tight spaces doesn't work with da Fireclaw. Makes a fun hunt terrifying. One hit dead on the highest difficulty.
God this game is awesome. That sense of "I'm just a little human, through wits and luck I managed to win."
If you think he's the villain you need to keep playingI'm with you OP. I finished the game, dude. If you're talking about
I strongly disagree with nearly everything you said.
The melee combat is def a little clunky though, and it's a minor part of the combat by design. This game is a third person shooter at its core. Hopefully they expand on the melee in the sequel. Also, human combat is incredibly easy and definitely the weakest part of the game.
It's quite easy to explain why I liked it and put over 130 hours into the main game and The Frozen Wilds.
TO make it short: It has a fantastic story, Aloy is awesome, the world is beautiful, the soundtrack is really good, the mech-creatures in it are amazing and the combat (bow/traps) against the mech-creatures is the best I've ever experienced.
All in all a great game and the best new IP this gen. I love it.
Always funny to me seeing these posts in HZD threads, because it was the the complete opposite to me. Played and completed HZD, played Zelda BOTW afterwards and got bored rather quickly. A super boring game to me.
I finished the game, dude. If you're talking about
then I hate to break it to you, but we're not talking about Horizon Zero Dawn 2, they're not the villain of the game.Sylens
