M2 working on 3DS remake of Aleste (Mark III/SMS)

M2 stated in an interview with Game Watch that they're working on a stereoscopic 3D remake of the Sega Mark III/Master System version of Aleste, thanks to the shmups twitter feed, hopefully it gets a western release:

I hope they move over the Switch soon. Maybe with some Saturn/Dreamcast/Naomi/Model 1/2/3 remasters.

Edit: Their work on 3DS has been fantastic.

YES. I played this for the first time at Paris Games Week's retro booth, I was surprised it didn't have a modern overseas port. I'd pay M2 myself to see this gets ported.

Pardon the necrobump, but I looked this up and saw almost nothing about its release.

Since Super Aleste/Space Megaforce, I need more Aleste in my life!

The 3DS remaster project's probably dead but M2 is working on a new Aleste now instead. It's called Aleste Branch and the platform(s)/release date are tba.


I kinda hope they do an Aleste Complete Collection to go along with it. M2 apparently bought the IP off D4 Enterprise.

This, all of it, please. Especially as a convenient and affordable way to play the MSX Aleste games. Hopefully the new game will prompt M2 to at least consider it.
