It just reeks of someone who was never punched in the face for their racism when they were younger, and now that they're middle aged they assume they can call 911 and have their backup kill the minorities for them.
So you have urges to act like a racist, but if it is aimed at a kid you stay your tongue.
This isn't "kids annoy me!," this is "I hate and have hated who you are despite your character." It's a lifetime of blame and hate. People who openly proclaim they are racist actually do exist, it's just that some of us never meet them. One of my wife's greatest struggles in healthcare has been keeping to her oath to maintain the health of some people who declare they are racist and proud.

Reminds me of the shit my dad says when he hears about a murder or racist attack. 'Maybe so and so didn't know what they were doing because to do that youd have to be mentally ill', excusing shit when its convenient.
We don't know the full story yet, we should hear from both side before we make any judgment.

Can we stop doing this? The worst part about the whole "civility" argument was that these responses read like an admission of guilt and excuses when so far, most of these confrontations have been met with people who are calm and composed while some racist goes off the deep end. It's completely undermining. It's not a matter of we don't have to be nice we others are not, we are nice when others aren't and yet we're being gaslit to think that we aren't and then trying to excuse our non-existent bad behavior.

Nah. The civility argument is meant to undermine the fact that racists such as this grown man are threatening to personally beat our children and call the cops to finish them off if he has to. These people should not go unchecked, and I will not berate an adult if they choose to do so with vulgar language.
