How can there be that much child porn? Lock this guy away forever!
Hundreds of millions of kids and teens around the world with unrestricted, unsupervised access to internet capable devices with cameras who are getting capped/recorded by the creeps (and potentially blackmailed by said creeps) which as I mentioned before is probably a huge portion of it.

Hol-y shit.

To put that in perspective I have 414 blu-ray movies and about ten TV shows with multiple seasons most of which is uncompressed off the disc and its like 14tb

Lock him up and throw away the key. It's guys like these and serial killers/rapists that make me scoff at members that believe prison should only serve to rehabilitate, sure in a lot of instances. But in others it's solely for punishment and removal from society.
14 tb is about as much data that exists within the Library of Congress too. I can only imagine its the tip of the iceberg.

Well, that's my day ruined. Fucking disgusting pedofile needs to be put in prison. He's probably distributing too.

I've heard you'll basically do one case or two before a ton of counseling and psyche evaluations / monitoring before moving onto something else.

Could all be false, but I see it being realistic.
That's probably true. And the saddest part is that someone has to do it.

It feels like there is so much more evil out there than good. I mean these heroes who have to review this will suffer and there are tons more child predators around the corner.

Ugh.

Was this guy hosting a server farm or something? I can't imagine that much content being all for personal use. Also the online communities where he downloaded all this shit deserve mention too. I'm surprised he managed to download that much without getting caught in the FBI sting operation that (apparently) most of the CP sites on the Dark Web are now.

Unless he labeled the drives.
Maybe that's how he was caught.

"Hey, Greg, why's this drawer filled with hard drives labeled Child Porn?"
"Uuuhhh..."

Seriously though, the article was posted the day after the search. There's no way they've been able to process all those 58 terabytes in one day. The actual number is probably going to end up being much lower (though any is obviously too much).

He really should just be step one (or maybe step 2). The bigger and more important targets are the ones creating the images he was hoarding. There are children that need saving.
