it's funny because in terms of spending time together and just generally existing in the same space and knowing one another they are far advanced but also they haven't kissed yet, because japan (and shoujo tropes i guess)

also 2 vols is perfect sizing, 3 vols was way too big for comfort to hold (like physically)

i want to read it because i hear it's basically turned into a yuri manga, but also, there's so much fucking awks to get through i dunno if i can handle that

There's a ton of yuri teasing rn tbh, which is not what I read Watamote for in the first place :(

I read Watamote to see Tomoko grow as a person (and hopefully apply it to myself)

Just began reading Goodnight Punpun and man, I didn't expect this to have some horror elements. The adults in this series are really something...

I think that the central characters of the school festival arc will be Yotsuba and Itsuki - the former is having difficulty in hiding her real feelings, while the latter got a D in the predictor test and could fail the admission to university, so she must be helped by Fuutarou to achieve her goal. I think it will be the moment where she will fell in love for him.

If you had to recommend a manga purely on impactful visuals, what would you recommend?

My mind automatically goes to something that has that, you know, turn a page and it's a massive, beautifully composed, detailed spread. I can't think of specifics though - maybe Solanin? Ran and the Grey World? It's weird when you think about manga as this very visual medium but I can't pull up a name off the top of my head (probably because I largely read 4komas I guess)

Like I was thinking about Yuru Camp but to be frank I don't think the art in the Yuru Camp manga is all that. It's the beginnings of all that but the anime art is a lot stronger (obviously because they have specialised background artists doing the art)

latest Samurai 8 chapter was quite good. Some pretty good paneling and placement for the flashback. Kishimoto still has it when he wants to.

Good timing to start posting, lol. AFAIK, the US manga version (Seven Seas) is unaltered. And if that is, every other version should be unaltered as well (aside the translation, of course). The anime version is just visually toned down. Those scenes also more come off as pure comedy, but hard to say if that was intended or not.
