Amazon has the first 3 Pokemon Adventure box sets (22 volumes) for under $100 and I'm really close to pulling the trigger on that

...Well crap. My manga importing had shifted for the last like 2-3 years to mainly just taking advantage of Kinokuniya's Black Friday sales where they actually put up a discount on the website instead of just in stores (not near any physical locations at all, personally.) Well, apparently their website has been down for maintainence... since the start of October. Looks like I'm going to be digging into researching my options again. Wasn't planning on a TON this year as I still have a stupid big backlog to go through, but still...
Recently imported for the first time, and I just noticed that the shipping and whatnot was 3/4 of the order, heh. Got most of what I wanted, so don't think I'll have to import again anytime soon.
I've never heard of Kinokuniya, but other people don't know what's going on with that maintenance either.

Double Taisei End
Ended in the only way I thought it would, unless something supernatural would happen to split them and put them in separate bodies the nnothing would change for Sei and Tei. Still wonder how romance would work for them.

Poor Jack :(. I'm thinking maybe the whale threatened to have all sea life destroy all land life if they did not stop the in-fighting. Would also explain why the shark saved Legosi when he mentioned being the friend of a seal, they are on land to keep the peace.
F to Beast Children/Double Taisei/Tokyo Shinobi Squad. I figured they were getting axed lol. I liked Beast Children and Double Taisei seemed like it was heading in the right direction. TSS never had a strong enough hook even though I liked the art and the main character was cool.
I stopped reading Tokyo Shinobi Squad once I heard they were thinking of ending it. No point in getting invested in something that's never going to develop properly. I'm kinda surprised WSJ burns through series so freaking fast. You'd think they'd utilize the fact that they have a bunch of popular series running to buoy some of the weaker series for at least a year.

It's okay. People tend to overhype it because it's more "serious" than the anime and the games, but it's a step above the anime in that it actually changes the protagonists each gen. If you like Pokemon I think you'll enjoy it. I couldn't see myself recommending it to non-fans though.
I feel if I reread them yeah I wouldn't like it as much as when I was a kid. A lot of the cool factor is like more mature shit like death being in the Manga. And also that characters fulfilled their determined goals and all became important in an expanded cast. So as a young teen i was hyped. Now I'm sure I've read so much Manga I can only recommend it to Pokemon fans.
Pornographer 1 - 7 (END)
Pornographer is an interesting take on the prompt involving the struggling novelist who was hit with writers block as he tries to find their spark again (after being trapped in the erotica genre and wanting to write real literature) and this spark being ignited by a run in with an unsuspecting young man. The story evolves from mere fun and games with Harukio writing everything that the novelist Kijimi says while he recuperates from a freak accident. What initially starts as light-hearted teasing over Haruhiko's innocence at the terms and plots in erotica, evolves into something akin to a crush and love and feelings. Overall, it is a fantastic and emotional experience with the highs and lows of friendship turned lover.
I do wish the ending was a bit better though as it kind of just leaves things to the imagination with the relationship and the short epilogue doesn't really help.
Overall, was a fun experience and the art style is great. Hope the writer does more, it was a fantastic debut BL fiction.

Yeah boring chapter but it's setting up for a big confession I guess.
Yeah I'm unfortunately in the latter group that read them when I was older. I maybe wrong but I think the manga eventually drops the edgy stuff like death from the RBY arc because I don't recall reading any of that in the BW arc (which is way worse than the games imo), but that's the only one aside from RBY that I've fully read. You do see the characters grow and change though. They're decent reads, but nothing more than that imo. It also has that shonen issue later in the series where the girl protagonists are severely outshone by the male protagonists.
I also think the manga is another casualty of GF/TPCi's yearly game stance. B2W2 went on a hiatus for a few years and is only pretty close to finishing now... 7 years later. And if it's anything like what I've already read of B2W2 it'll probably be rushed to hell and back. Speaking of rushed, SMUSUM also just finished in a similarly super rushed fashion from what I've read. The mangka also seems to be skipping LGO entirely as well (which doesn't sound weird in a vacuum, but so far he's covered every remake with a few manga volumes). Time will tell if the same fate befalls SwSh since it just started, but it's another one of many reasons I wish GF would sit back and take their time with the next games.
With all of this buildup, if Fuutarou's decision doesn't blow the whole manga out of the water, I'm going to be upset. Have it at least be on par with how big of an impact Nino's follow up confession had.

This really seems the endgame at this point, but at the same time I fell we still need more development (and so, another arc at least) for Itsuki to be the bride.

That said, I am legit really curious what Aurthur's deal is. I've been curious what they were gonna do with the king Arthur mythos, super dissapointed when he died like that, and now really curious where this plotline is actually supposed to go.
Well, I expect the series to end at graduation, so it all depends on how much longer they have left in school in-universe.
I expect one-two more volumes after this. I could even see Fuutarou or one of the quints breaking up due to one of the sisters feelings and the plot going from there.

The creator talked about already having a spinoff in mind for when this series ended and people have speculated that it's going to be an Arthur manga with the stuff we're getting now setting that up.
It's never been about hype, but about how much salt will be generated, lol.
I feel like most people are braced for Itsuki at this point
I mean it is the most obvious way to go and she ticks a lot of the boxes of what I'd expect this to go with. I'd be more surprised at this point if she wasn't the bride.
Though I wonder if they'll have this go with him getting rejected and then it going from there. The only ones I could envision that scenario happening with would be Yotsuba and Itsuki. I just hope they don't draw this out too much. I'm half expecting each one of them to get their own chapter dealing with his rejection or confession, but that feels a bit much.
Despite the joke, a Fuutarou side focusing on him and how perhaps the events maybe have him become certain of his feelings could be alright.
Which in itself will still lead to no small amount of salt, lol. Everyone's got a horse in this race, and the meltdowns are going to be incredible.
I really hope this situation does end with the next chapter though, I'm just about done with this festival arc because it feels like it's been dragging far too long. Negi has been dangling the carrot that is Fuut's choice which only served to undermine the other plot developments.
