I'm glad that Thatcher vs. Hideki Suzuki exists. It saves me on ever having to buy melatonin pills ever again.

Things people who haven't watched any of Thatcher's work in Europe say :p

Thatcher's the living embodiment of Inokiism, dammit!

I've watched that WALTER vs. Thatcher match in PROGRESS and some of his work in wXw, good sir!

Just as I don't get Ilja Dragunov, I also don't get the love that Thatcher gets from Euro graps.

This does not add up!

Thatcher is great and also a vastly underrated straight man

Oh, very much so. I was so hyped before the Ringkampf vs LIJ tag, as Tim was staring daggers at EVIL and looked like he was about to murder the man for being so over-gimmicked...then the match started and it was fine, but a night off for LIJ and a further waste of Thatcher & WALTER in RevPro. Good job, Andy!

I just assume that you're all drunk at the shows and are just transplanted footie hooligans who like to make noise and chant. :)

Well...yes, but also Thatcher's just become really adept at his character work, when you see him in person it's super evident what he's all about and super easy to get behind him. Especially in a match like the one vs WALTER, where he got seven shades of shit kicked out of him.

Meltz is still on roman is fake island

Like, I don't think Meltzer is actually arguing Roman faked cancer, but he doesn't know how to get out of his own way.

He's not accusing Roman of faking, but he is very much saying WWE and Roman Reigns deliberately deceived everyone by not making is apparent that Roman's cancer was treatable in order to make money off it. Whether it's true or not it's a dumb fucked up point to keep hammering on and he's deriving almost no benefit from sticking to that story just so he can say he is right all the time.

The disrespect for Thatcher...

BSS vs Ringkampf (RIP Axel) is one of my favorites matches of the decade.

Thatcher in the Atlas division was always a good time.

There's a lot of wrestling to talk about... maybe don't talk about cancer?

Also fuck Santino.

While AAA and CMLL have always been competitors, things have heated up between the two sides recently after both promotions found themselves on rival TV networks, with AAA leaving Televisa to join TV Azteca and CMLL replacing AAA on Televisa. This past weekend was the first time both AAA and CMLL have been on TV and through one week, the advantage belongs to AAA. Lucha Central has learned that AAA's Friday broadcast on TV Azteca's Azteca (which showed matches from their highly acclaimed Tepic taping) drew a 4.4 rating, with 2.4 million total viewers. A replay of the show shown on TV Azteca's A+ network on Sunday drew a 1.3 rating, giving AAA a 5.7 rating total between the two shows on two different stations. In contrast, Lucha Centrla has learned that CMLL's first show on Televisa's Gala TV, which aired on Saturday and replayed the 3rd, 4th and 6th matches from Friday's Super Viernes show, only drew a 1.3 rating (good for 1.2 million viewers), the same number AAA did on its replay show Sunday.

The numbers aren't altogether surprising; AAA has been on TV for years now between Televisa and TV Azteca while CMLL is only recently returning to network TV. It could also be argued that AAA's airing time, in the afternoon on Friday for two hours, is a much more favorable position than CMLL's time slot on Saturday. Regardless, this is tremendous news for AAA, whose Friday rating (and overall combined rating including the Sunday replay) is higher than what WWE draws in the US most weeks. It will be interesting to see if they can continue to build on the momentum, as well as if CMLL can build on their number with some stronger shows in the upcoming weeks.

More info on it from the DOJ.

Dept of Justice said:
All of the defendants were charged with one count of a conspiracy to defraud consumers and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) by selling products labeled as dietary supplements that contained unapproved new drugs, illegal steroids, and other ingredients that were hazardous and prohibited by law. The indictment also charges Braun, an owner of Blackstone Labs, and Singerman, a former company owner, with two counts of introducing a product known as Super DMZ RX 2.0, an unapproved new drug, into interstate commerce. The maximum punishment for the conspiracy to defraud is five years in prison and a fine of $250,000 or twice the gross gain or loss from the offense. The maximum punishment for each of the two counts of introducing an unapproved new drug is three years in prison and a fine of $250,000 or twice the gross gain or loss from the offense.

The indictment further charges Braun, Singerman, and six other defendants with one count of a conspiracy to distribute anabolic steroids, which are Schedule III controlled substances under federal law and which may cause kidney failure, liver damage, and other permanent health problems when misused. The indictment alleges that one person suffered serious bodily injury from the use of one of the steroids involved in the conspiracy. The maximum punishment for the conspiracy to distribute controlled substances is 15 years' imprisonment and a fine of $500,000 or twice the gross gain or loss from the offense.

The indictment additionally charges several defendants in three separate counts of distribution of anabolic steroids and charges Ventrella with one count of possession of an anabolic steroid with the intent to distribute. The maximum punishment for each count of distribution of a controlled substance and for the count of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute is 10 years in prison and a fine of $500,000. Finally, Braun and Singerman are each charged with three counts of money laundering. The maximum punishment for each money laundering charge is 10 years in prison and a fine of $250,000 or twice the amount of the property involved in the money laundering transaction.

Lol Meltzer says the Becky/Ronda stuff is being considered a big success by WWE and everyone else is now copying them and they're redoing everyone's stuff to be more worked shooty and with more random twitter angles.

Told y'all lol

Dave said weeks ago that Lacey wasn't the plan and people kept still pushing it as if it was gonna happen for some reason

I guess people didn't get it because he said it was more like he didn't know, but he did seem pretty clear that Lacey wasn't "the plan" (although maybe it still could have been). I never believed it was given that they would need Lacey to actually wrestle for it to make a lick of sense.

Then again, the fan community seems to miss obvious cues a lot, e.g. asking why Black and Ricochet are a tag team and saying how they're being "wasted" (by being pushed harder than anyone I can remember ever from NXT)

There's also the fact that the vast majority of people don't actually listen to WOR or read WON, they just see if it gets reposted to reddit.

Is burying Asuka by pretending she doesn't exist and isn't one of your company's champions any better than burying her by putting a green as goose shit, to quote a favorite, blonde, white, awful woman over her?

Asking for a friend who is lucky they didn't take an avatar bet with me over how Asuka would be used at WrestleMania 35.

She isn't buried though. She's stuck in a brand/division that has the two biggest female wrestlers ever to the point they pulled them from her division to make them main event WrestleMania. It's unfortunate, but the women's division is pretty clearly segmented:

S Tier: Ronda, Becky, Charlotte
A Tier: Asuka, Bayley, Sasha
C Tier: Almost Everyone Else

It's a weird problem in that they pushed being actually good at wrestling to the point nobody gives a fuck about anyone else but the roster is still stacked with people who aren't particularly good wrestlers. Like, Naomi, Mandy and Sonya are the best of the rest, but none of them seem like reasonable opponents, so I assume it's just a big clusterfuck multi-woman match where Asuka beats the shit out of everyone at this point because the best match they could make is either Sasha or Bayley, who are defending the tag titles.
