Yeah, it looks a little boring stylistically. Hope it's just the trailers. How is it possible that a movie about a badass lady Goku in space looks so unremarkable?

I think we’ve seen Young Monica in one of the trailers.Nice little trailer. They're really setting up Monica (via her mom) in this movie, aren't they?
Maybe the movie gives us more context and her personality makes more sense in those scenes? Maybe Marvel is hiding all the good stuff?I love Brie Larson
But dont know why she is playing her in a way that resembles a Terminator.
enjoy them while they are here - we'll have a billion dollar CM movie and Russo DBZ fight scene and by spring people are gonna be reposting "that gif" a million times and loving it
Not at all, like when she lands in the green suit with the fist smash and what looks like her getting up at the academy (possible graduation flashback?)
ExactlyWhy does she have like zero charm on screen? I’m sure she’s a very good and popular actress but I can’t get a single good vibe from these trailers.
My only take away from this trailer.
My take so far on the whole film from trailers I have seen. Have no choice but to watch it though.
How would she lose her powers to Rogue in the MCU?I prefer the 90's x-men cartoon version of carol danvers. Much closer to the comic when she lost her memory and power to rogue.
give it 7 years
Same thing. Rogue is able to absorb other's powers, so she's hired by someone to take Captain Marvel's from her because she's too problematic. Then the hypothetical movie could be about Rogue having Carol in her head the whole time she's working for these bad guys, sometimes even losing control of her own body to her, until eventually Carol wakes up with her powers are returned (but somehow Rogue still has them too) and they get into a huuuuuuuge fight.
Psst....Rogue isn't in the MCU yet....Same thing. Rogue is able to absorb other's powers, so she's hired by someone to take Captain Marvel's from her because she's too problematic. Then after Carol wins and Rogue finally loses her powers, she finds a school run by a certain bald guy that can teach Rogue how to use her powers for good.
Not yet, no, but she will be pretty soon. If you want to adapt the comic where Carol has her powers stolen by Rogue, it wouldn't be hard to see it as Captain Marvel 2.
Feige & Co are so bad at casting, they have such a shitty track-record on these 10 last years... I don't understand why they don't ask more often for the expertise of the internet armchair guild of casting directors...Brie Larson is undoubtedly a huge talent but perhaps she's a little miscast here?
More like a Robocop if we trust the production reportsI love Brie Larson
But dont know why she is playing her in a way that resembles a Terminator.
How can you get so upset at such a benign comment?Feige & Co are so bad at casting, they have such a shitty track-record on these 10 last years... I don't understand why they don't ask more often for the expertise of the internet armchair guild of casting directors...
Casue she doesn't do stuff like eatting 46 bowls of rice you can relate to.How is it possible that a movie about a badass lady Goku in space looks so unremarkable?
Not upset, I just find it funny... how people think they would do better than professionals from their couch. Like these guys moving 2 slides in photoshop thinking they did best than a DP, etc...How can you get so upset at such a benign comment?
Seems to me like you're the one that's worried about Ms. Larson's performance in Captain Marvel.
Except we know the Kree wiped her memories and presumably put her through extreme training to turn her into a weapon to fight in their war. She's clearly meant to be very blank slate until she arrives on Earth and starts finding herself again. At which point she's going to have serious issues, so you shouldn't expect a lighthearted comedy movie. This'll have more in common tonally with Black Panther if anything.I love Brie Larson
But dont know why she is playing her in a way that resembles a Terminator.
I have no idea what you're talking about at this point and frankly I don't think you do either. I think you're just upsetting yourself by attacking people for their opinions on a 40 second TV spot. Not upset, I just find it funny... how people think they would do better than professionals from their couch. Like these guys moving 2 slides in photoshop thinking they did best than a DP, etc...
As for casting, Marvel is hard to beat, I think they know what they're doing. But no, they forced Brie to sign with them, she looks bored and totally not the part... again, she's not a real pro.
Casting in super-hero films are generally never the problem. As for casting, Marvel is hard to beat, I think they know what they're doing.
Haven't seen a bad performance from her yet, so I'm waiting to see the film before agreeing with that judgement. But no, they forced Brie to sign with them, she looks bored and totally not the part... again, she's not a real pro.
Black Panther wasn't this serious eitherExcept we know the Kree wiped her memories and presumably put her through extreme training to turn her into a weapon to fight in their war. At which point she's going to have serious issues, so you shouldn't expect a lighthearted comedy movie. This'll have more in common tonally with Black Panther if anything.
Im in the same boat here. I'm not sure whether its the "style" or the "concept" that's just not clicking, but so far this one isn't as compelling as Thor:Ragnarok, Infinity War, Black Panther or Spider-Verse.I'm sure this is gonna be a fun movie and I'll definitely see it, but man, the trailers so far have just not been able to grab me at all.
It definitely isn't the first "eh" movie when most of Phase 1, Thor 2, and Ant-Man 2 exist.Black Panther wasn't this serious either
This will be Marvel's first "eh" movie. I wanted it to be bigger than Wonder Woman
2 page thread shows lack of interest here as well
Oh come on the movie isn't even out yet, how can you tell how serious it's going to be? When I said it seems tonally like Black Panther I meant how it's tackling serious issues and T'Challa rarely jokes himself, with most of the comedy coming from the other characters. That's how I think Captain Marvel will pan out - maybe Carol Danvers doesn't quip or throw out witty oneliners, but that doesn't mean other people won't.Black Panther wasn't this serious either
This will be Marvel's first "eh" movie. I wanted it to be bigger than Wonder Woman
Well it's a little difficult to drum up interest for a solo movie that's coming out only weeks before the finale to the saga everyone has waited over ten years for.
