Dave says Showtime was the other party bidding for AEW, but it likely would have been for events every few months like Strikeforce was and not a weekly show.

Also said that TNT wants to do market research before they decide whether to air it Tuesday or Wednesday. They say that Tuesday has the advantage of wrestling fans already being used to watching wrestling on Tuesday with Smackdown and AEW can slot in there. On the other hand, Wednesday would have less conflict with TNT's NBA commitments.

He says that if they do decide on Tuesday, then the show would likely be cut down during the days they clash with the NBA. Likely they would only air an hour long show as a lead-in to the NBA games those nights.

I'd bet it ends up on Wednesday. Makes way more sense.

ROH: Crowds were down for the recent War of the Worlds tour. It's pretty clear things are flat right now. The actual crowd for 5/8 in Buffalo was 600. Toronto on 5/9 was 1,000, well down from the expected 1,500. Grand Rapids, MI on 5/11 was 700 and Chicago on 5/12 drew 900 for television, which is less than the 2,000 that MLW has been doing in the market

Also says AEW likely didn't have much a choice in the price of the PPV. They don't have the leverage to undercut PPV providers with streaming options.

I said a few days ago he was my pick. MITB is usually a heel gimmick and none of the other heels really make sense. Corbin is being built for Seth already without the case. Drew is the only other real argument, but to me they clearly designed the Strowman angle on Monday so that he could cost those two the match and they could have an out for not winning.

Which is strange because ROH is in a similar position and they allowed NJPW to undercut the PPV huge on the MSG show.

Really hope AEW can get some kind of streaming service up at some point. I really want to support them, but they better have a fucking amazing card if they're trying to get me to 50 bucks for a PPV and Double or Nothing isn't it.

An embarrassing story is that this past week, Alberto El Patron was using social media to build up a three-way match on 5/5 in Monterrey with Alberto & brother El Hijo de Cien Caras facing Pentagon & Fenix and El Hijo de Dr. Wagner & Galeno del Mal. In the buildup, Alberto said that Pentagon wasn't really a star because a real star would never wrestle in front of 300 or 400 fans and he'd never lower himself to work those kind of shows because he's a real star. He has claimed that because of the crowds he's worked in front of that he is one of the biggest Mexican stars of all-time, and at one point had heat with his uncle claiming he was actually a bigger star than Mil Mascaras ever was. Pentagon shot back saying that Alberto used to be a star, but he isn't one anymore. There were people who thought they had legit heat, but evidently not enough, since the match drew 500 fans in a 5,000 seat building. A lot of people were making fun of Alberto after the show regarding his drawing power. He was definitely a huge star years ago but his drawing power has fallen. He rarely wrestles and the last time he was in Mexico City a few months ago, that didn't draw either

Himawari Unagi got the last spot instead.
They're also doing the tag titles match MagiRabbi vs NEO Biishiki-gun on the 6/8 show.

They already have five matches and that's usually the limit for Takeover shows.

I'd bet he's in the pre-Takeover TV taping match. Probably with Gulak.

His first Takeover match will probably be in Toronto.

There was a lot of talk that Lee/Dijak was supposed to happen on the actual Takeover show in New York. But Lee was hurt. Now he comes back and Dijak is hurt and most of the other important heels are booked in other things. Timing is just poor for him right now.

Yeah, that was just some rather unfortunate timing on the injury for Lee. Even if Dijakovic was good he probably would of been tied up with Dream also

The story as Dave told it was that it was a tryout match for Dominguez so they were told to do a basic match. But then Idol started breaking out flips and shit so they made a call to just send it home and Idol ignored the call so Dominguez, who has a legit amateur background, just shot on him and pinned him.

I wonder what the hell they're doing with UE, turning Roddy face would be really weird considering the lack of heels but separating them without turning any of them face is dumb and unnecessary

Considering how stacked the non-TV roster is, they could always turn Roddy and add another 4th.

Strickland might fit that as a shitheel tbh just as a random thought. But they have a ton of options.
